Dear FCC:SUMMARY: Opposed to SALE UNLESS Unicel MAINE *CUSTOMER* assets TRADED to AT&T or another GSM Carrier.

I am commenting about Wireless's proposed acquisition of Unicel. As a Unicel Customer and Resident of Maine, I am OPPOSED to this acquisition

I chose Unicel as my carrier 3 years ago when they switched to the GSM system. Verizon is a CDMA carrier. Both are available here. US Cellular is the CDMA carrier and I presume that Verizon customers roam on their network. I have had great NATIONWIDE service with Unicel... From Maine to California, Alaska to Florida. AND also good service in Banff Alberta Canada and other Canadian (Rogers.com) areas. I have used this Motorola quad mode handset in IRELAND by inserting an Irish SIM card.

I do NOT want to switch to CDMA and get a new handset that won't work in Europe or Canada. I also understand that GSM is the world standard.

I request that the assets of MAINE UNICEL be be switched to AT&T as part of the Verizon deal. These assets to INCLUDE the MAINE Unicel *Customers*. Already, perhaps due to Vermont's Senator Bernie Sanders help, I read: SAN ANTONIO, Dec 04, 2007 /PRNewswire- FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- AT&T Inc. AT&T Inc has announced a definitive agreement with Verizon Wireless to conduct a swap of wireless assets.

This asset swap DOES NOT include MAINE. This swap should include Maine so that Competition continues. Currently in my rural area, US Cellular (CDMA) and Unicel (GSM) are the only two choices. I cannot get AT&T or Verizon services.

In an ideal world, if a merge is necessary, AT&T should get Unicel (both GSM) and Verizon should get US Cellular (both CDMA). This would promote continued competition rather than a lopsided customer base that ends up almost all CDMA and leaves GSM to ROT for our Summer Visitors who are AT&T or T-Mobile customers.

Can you imagine, being a RedSox FAN and being FORCED to be traded to the Yankees AGAINST MY WILL? That is what is currently happening here, without your intervention.

Also, I have an excellent Cell phone plan... ALL incoming calls are F-ree all the time. I only use minutes for outgoing calls. I want to continue with this plan. It is the feature that allowed me to give up my LANDLINE and use the cellphone for almost all my calls.

Feel free to contact me on my Unicel Phone!

Thank you.
