Most Famous Person In Your Mobile: Richard Brady !!!!! WREXHAM manager Dean Saunders’ recent call for three-up from the Conference certainly provoked a response from our readers. Whether they agreed, partly agreed or disagreed, it provided us with a bulging mailbag. It provided us with food for thought, too. Why should there be differences in the numbers of promotion and relegation places in the Football League to Non- League? For example, why are there four promotion places on offer from League Two to League One (three automatic and one via the play-offs), but just two from the Blue Square Bet Premier (one automatic and one play-off) to League Two? Moving down the Non-League ladder to Step 4, there are also just two promo- tion spots. At Step 5, there is just one place on offer. Surely, the number of promotion places should be the same throughout foot- ball. Let’s make it a fair system for everyone. Whether it will ever happen remains to be seen as obstacles are often put in the way of change. What it does mean is that if your team wins promotion in nine months’ time, then they really will deserve it.

SOMEONE who knows all about how tough it is to get out of the Conference is Oxford United manager Chris Wilder, whose side went up via the play-offs last term. Speaking to our sister publication, The Football League Paper, recently, he said: “I’m not trying to big up our achievement, but I think the hardest task in English football is to win the Premier League. The second hardest is to stay there and the third hardest is to get out of the Championship. But, in my opin- ion, getting out of the Conference comes next. “It really is a horrible place. If you don’t bounce straight back, you get sucked into it and then the gloom sets in, the despair takes hold and it becomes a major grind.” After reading those quotes, I’m just delighted Oxford won promotion. It sounds as though Chris would have been suicidal otherwise!

IF YOU’VE lost track of what’s been happening over the summer in Non- League, then our Pyramid Poster could be just the answer. It gives the make-up of the divisions from the Blue Square Bet Premier down to Step 6 in an easy-to-read form. To make it more attractive this term, we’ve lowered the price, so keep an eye out for the ads in The NLP. SITTINGBOURNESITTINGBOURNE FIXTURESFIXTURES 2010 - 2011
