NOTICE OF RACE Helsinki Regatta 30th June - 2nd July 2017

Helsinki Regatta is an international regatta for keelboats and selected other classes. The organizing authority is Helsinki Sail Racing Management, an association of seven leading sailing clubs in Helsinki and a member of the Finnish Sailing and Boating Federation.

1. Rules 1.1.The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing. 1.2. Appendix P applies for the dinghy classes 1.3. If there is a conflict between languages, the Finnish text will take precedence.

2. Publicity Boats may be required to display advertising chosen and supplied by the organizing authority.

3. Eligibility, entries The regatta is open for boats belonging to the following classes: Keelboats: 8mR, 6mR, 5.5m, 5m, Star, Dragon, H-boat, Folkboat, Finn Express, Dinghies: 505, Snipe, 470, E-dinghy.

Classes will be accepted, unless otherwise agreed in writing, if at least six boats have submitted their entries on 26th June at 11.59 pm.

Entries are made by completing the form on www.helsinkiregatta.fi and paying the required fee not later than 11.59 pm on 26th June.

Late registrations may be accepted at the race office, and the payment shall then include an additional fee of 30€. A receipt of the payment shall be submittede upon request.

5. 7. Schedule 7.1. Sailing Instructions for all classes are available from 29th June. 7.2. The Race Office is open as follows: HSK: Thu 29.6 at 6 – 8 pm and Sat 1st July at 8 - 9 am(Dragons) HSK: Fri 30.6 at 6 – 8 pm and Sat 1st July at 8 - 9 am(dinghies) HSS: Fri 30th June at 6-8 pm and Sat 1st Ju.ly at 8-9 am (keelboats) Registering at the Race Office is not compulsory

Number of races Category Races per day Keel boats 2 Dinghies 3 On Sunday 2nd July no warning signal will be given after 3pm.

8. Measurement, inspection Measurement and inspection of boats and equipment may be undertaken beofre and after the regatta as well as during tne regatta days.

10. Venue 10.1.The base of the keelboats is the HSS harbour. Competing boats do not have to be moored in that harbour. 10.2. The base of the dinghies and Dragons is the HSK club harbour. 10.3. The courses and associated classes are: Area C, SW of Hernesaari : Star, H-boat, Folkboat Area G, N of Isosaari: 8mR, 6mR, 5.5m, 5m, FE Area D, S of Melkki: 505, 470, Snipe, E-dinghy Area E, S of Ytterskär: Dragon Area A: NW of Melkki Boats arriving to the regatta on trailers may be launched at NJK, Koivusaari or HSK. 13. Scoring (a) When fewer than four races have been completed, a boat's series score will be the total of here scores. (b) When 4-6 races have been completed, a boat's series score will be the total of here scores excliuding her worst score.

19. Prizes Prizes will be given in accordance with the recommendations of the Finnish Federation of Sailing and Boating.

20. Disclaimer of Liability Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See Rule 4, Decision to Race. The Organizing Authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta.

21. Insurance Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third party liability insurance with a minimum cover of at least EUR 500,000 (or equivalent) per incident.
