Of particular interest to the UK class are the subjects of professionalism and sail measurement. The BOA's view on professionalism is that a line needs to be drawn in the sand, in an effort to prevent outright, 'paid cash to sai l and more to win ' practices from developing. The reasoning is that a fleet which tolerates such sailors risks the loss of the broad base of amateur support that the Class now enjoys. The lOA is considering the issue in the context that we also enjoy- and do not want to lose- the involvement and support of numerous boatbuilders, sailmakers and
