Bendik Brænne - The last great Country Swindle (ltd. green vinyl)

Here’s an exclusive edition of Bendik Brænne's Norwegian Grammy winner, The Last Great Country Swindle, from 2017. To celebrate the prize (His second award on three albums), the record label now release this album on green vinyl. The album is based on a long collaboration with the mariachi death surf orchestra, Los Plantronics, and the recording and songwriting of the album has taken place at the rehearsal room with Los Plantronics. Other musicians participating is David Wallumrød on organ and Martin Windstad on percussion. It is recorded at Christian Engfelt, mixed by Dan Weston, and masterd by Greg Calbi. Bendik Brænne (f.1987 Bærum) won the prize in the country category for his debut album "How to Fake It in America" in 2013 and "The Last Great Country Swindle in (2017). He was also nominated in the same category for his second album, "Do you know who I think I am." As a saxophonist, pianist and organizer, he has contributed to a lot of albums, including for artists like Dumdum Boys, Kurt Nilsen, Amund Maarud, Odd Nordstoga, Greni and Jonas Alaska. "

Big Ole P & Lil`Missy - Big Ole P & Lil`Missy (cd og vinyl)

In Mississippi, when Ole Petter Andreassen (Black Debbath, Thulsa Doom, El Doom and The Born Electric) and Mona Helleland Varpe (Launderettes, Home Groan, Los Plantronics) made the trip through the famous crossroad on a road trip in the USA in the summer of 2013, it became clear both had a great love for alternative country and admiration for artists such as Dave Rawlings Machine, Blue Rodeo, Kathleen Edwards, Whiskeytown, etc. In the fall of 2014, a contract was signed with quality label Vestkyst (Darling West, Torgeir Waldemar), There have been plenty of touring, both alone and together with Minor Majority, Torgeir Waldemar, Kreg Viesselman. Now, the debut album is available. Something that was basically an underground country act, has been more widely organized and produced, with a clear nod to genre-crossing artists like Sturgill Simpson, Jonathan Wilson, Wilco and Phosphorescent. With the help of Pål Angelskår (guest writer of To be Alone), Geir Sundstøl, Arne Skage Jr and Elvira Nikolaisen, it has become a rich and varied album that fits well into the new spring for Norwegian alternative country.

With confident, heavy guitar riffs, catchy choruses and breathtaking guitar solos, Mother Trudy from Oslo sure are on the rise as a new and exciting rock band. The quartet consists of two Norwegians and two Swedes inspired by the greats in rock history, without sounding too retro. Cecilie - Fearless

Cecilies debut album Fearless is a popalbum strongly influenced by new age and folk music. The material is a result of 15 years of songwriting and both melodies and lyrics are written by Cecilie herself. The single The Spell was chosen among 3000 songs to be a part of the Norwegian tv production of The Hit in 2014, where known artists get an opportunity to choose unknown songs by unknown songwriters. The Spell did well on the show.

Skadedyr - Musikk!

The peculiar band Skadedyr is a bunch of profiled names from the young generation of musicians who also plays in the groundbreaking projects of bands and artists like Jenny Hval, Broen, Moskus, Girl and Torg. The band played on Øya's main stage last year, and now they are here with their third album, simply titled "Music!". The band sounds ( if possible) more free than ever. They take more chances and they create a genre of music that by all measures should be crazy to look and sound healthy and natural. "Musikk!" was recorded in Studio Paradiso in Oslo and was later mixed by Lasse Marhaug.

Hole Trio - Encounters

In January 2018 Sigurd Hole released his first solo double bass album “Elvesang” to great reviews worldwide. The new album “Encounters” features Hole – known from Eple Trio and his collaborations with Tord Gustavsen and Karl Seglem (to name a few) - as the leader of a new Norwegian supertrio with veteran Jarle Vespestad on drums and new talent Håkon Aase on the violin. Inspired by traditional music such as the Indian, Middle Eastern and Norwegian folk music, the trio explores elements from these old musical traditions, combining them with their own expressions as improvising musicians of today. The result is a unique mix of eastern and western musical traditions - an open ended, “borderless” form of chamber music described by listeners as a beautiful, magical and otherworldly experience.

Kjell Tore Innervik - Utopias – Radical Interpretations of Iconic Musikal Works for Percussion

Kjell Tore Innervik performs Morton Feldman's The King of Denmark and Iannis Xenakis's Psappha, exploring the intimate performing space with large format recording techniques, engaging the listener in immersive audio. The Xenakis was recorded twice: once from the perspective of an intimate listener, and a second time literally "over-head", giving a first- persona perspective. The difference not only in microphone technique but also in the performer's state of mind and how he projects his playing has a profound impact on the listening experience. Radical Interpretations of Iconic Musical Works for Percussion (2013–2017) was an interdisciplinary artistic research project hosted at the Norwegian Academy of Music (2013–2017) in collaboration with the Oslo Academy of the Arts, the Oslo School of Architecture and Design, Westerdals Oslo ACT and 2L through the Norwegian Artistic Research Programme. Malin Pettersen has so far made great success as a vocalist and songwriter in the country / americana band Lucky Lips, but now it's time for her to step forward and make her debut on her own. The album sounds like a blend of American folk andclassic pop in the other. "This was about a desire to express everything I am, and all the things I want to say. I do not believe in genre like a cage, but rather as a large open landscape one can grow in and expand. Where a tree from an area can be perfectly planted in another, as long as you have knowledge of where it comes from and what it needs to flourish.
