Since initiating drama activities can be daunting for inexperienced teachers, this is also an area where a pivotal contribution can be made by professional artists and writers working in K-12 classrooms. Bringing Artists and Writers into Public Schools My first involvement with teaching artists came while I was spending a postdoctoral year with Writers In The Schools (WITS) in Houston, Texas.
