When can bookings for badminton and table tennis commence?

Badminton and table tennis will be available to book and pay for from Thursday 20 August and re-start Monday 24 August.

How will I book a badminton / table tennis court?

To book your badminton or table tennis court your will need to call the site directly and book and pay over the phone. These sessions will not be available online.

Why are the sessions not available online?

Unfortunately, our system doesn’t allow for this at the moment.

Will I be able to borrow equipment?

Unfortunately not. In order to table tennis or badminton you will need to bring your own equipment.

How long will my session be for?

All sessions will be bookable and last for 60 minutes.

Can I play badminton with members of a different household?

Yes. Both singles play and doubles play can now take place in groups of people from different households, as long as you remain 2 metres apart as far as possible – meaning that four people from different households can play doubles.

How many people can play badminton at one time?

A maximum of 4 persons can play on each court.

Are there any on court badminton rules I need to be aware of?

• You can play singles and doubles using all areas of the court, within the respective court markings. • If social distancing between adjacent courts cannot be maintained, you should only use the singles court markings.

• Other than where players are from the same household or part of a support bubble, follow Government advice on staying alert and safe, and stay at least two metres away from other players (including during play) as far as possible, when taking breaks and before and after play. • Do not make physical contact with other players (such as shaking hands or high fiving). • Avoid chasing the shuttle down towards another court if other players are using it. • For doubles, consider agreeing in advance which player will take the shot if a shuttle travels to the centre of the court.

Can I play table tennis with members of a different household?

Only singles play is permitted unless playing with members of the same household and/or people in the same support bubble.

How many people can play table tennis at one time?

A maximum of 4 persons can play on each table subject to the rules above.

Are there any on court table tennis rules I need to be aware of?

• If your table is set up in a shared activity space, for example a badminton court, please ensure that you do not stray into another person’s activity area. • Other than where players are from the same household, or part of a support bubble, follow Government advice on staying alert and safe and stay at least two metres away from other players (including during play) as far as possible, when taking breaks and before and after play. • Do not make physical contact with other players (such as shaking hands or high fiving).
