A presença de terra farta para lavrar e desfrutar, a co- existência, de início, depois a disponibilidade, a maior ou me- nor distância, de índios da terra, agentes potenciais de traba- lho, por fim os estorvos que se oferecem ao incremento de produções coloniais de larga procura, condicionam decisiva- mente, pelo menos até aos últimos anos do Setecentos, o teor da vida rural na área abrangida pelas velhas donatárias de São Vicente e Santo Amaro . Já que falta acjui estímulo para uma disciplina rigorosa no exercício da lavoura, bastam tais fa- tõres para forçar naturalmente a radical simplificação dos métodos agrícolas vindos do além-mar. O assenhoreamento das técnicas indígenas é fruto, no adventício, dessa possibili- dade, quase se pode dizer dessa necessidade, de simplificação, mais do que de uma aquiescência passiva a padrões divergen- tes da tradição européia. Nenhum dêsses padrões, aliás, seria profundamente alheio ou antipático aos portuguêses, nem sequer a prática das quei- madas, que na primeira metade do século XVI tinha acabado de dissipar em sua terra de origem uma densa cobertura flo- restal ainda intacta ao tempo de D. João I (2) . Não foi outro o recurso de que se valeram os mesmos portuguêses em al- guns de seus primeiros descobrimentos e conquistas, parti- cularmente nas ilhas do Atlântico. El, cantante de rap que comezou tocando a trompe- ta e demostrando dende moi novo o seu virtuosismo musical; ela, que comezou demostrando a súa potente voz nunha igrexa evanxélica de Mississippi. Ambos uniron os seus talentos musicais para crear o tema “Airplanes”, que se inclúe no disco The adventures of Bobby Ray , editado no ano 2010. Airplanes , como o propio nome indica, fálanos de avións, de avións na noite, de avións comparados con estrelas fugaces. Cu- riosamente, o tema chega ó máis alto da nosa lista dos 40 Principais case sen comelo nin bebelo, posto que é un tema novo que nunca antes entrara na nosa lista. Este triunfo non fai senón augurar novos éxitos destes dous cantantes, que poñerán novos temas nas listas de éxitos tanto xuntos como separados. 2. “Alejandro” (Lady Gaga) – 50 puntos. Lady Gaga é unha cantante que non necesita presentación. O tremen- do éxito obtido nestes últimos anos é consecuencia, nunha boa medida, do seu estilo extravagante. Lady Gaga é natural de Nova Iork, cidade es- tadounidense na que naceu no ano 1986, sendo o seu auténtico nome Stefani Juanne Angelina Germanotta. Non só se dedica a cantar, senón que tamén produce, compón, baila, toca o piano e desfila como modelo; son, por tanto, moitas as facetas nas que destaca. O vídeo desta can- ción, Alejandro , causou unha gran polémica pola natureza blasfema dal- gunhas das súas imaxes. Dende logo, Lady Gaga poderá pecar doutras cousas, pero non de pasar inadvertida. -

Community-managed tourism is especially important when vis- iting indigenous communities, which are often exploited by businesses that channel little money back into the community. Some backpackers are infamous for excessive bartering and taking only the cheapest tours. Keep in mind that low prices may mean a less safe, less environmentally sensitive tour (espe- cially true in the Amazon Basin and the Salar de Uyuni, among other places); in the market- place unrealistically low prices can negatively impact the livelihood of struggling vendors. It asks the question as to how contemporary guitarists have negotiated the relationship between tradition and modernity. In particular, the thesis uses primary fieldwork materials to question some of the assumptions made in more ‘literary’ approaches to flamenco of so-called flamencología . In particular, the thesis critiques attitudes to so-called flamenco authenticity in that tradition by bringing the voices of contemporary guitarists to bear on questions of belonging, home, and displacement. The conclusion, drawing on the author’s own experiences of playing and teaching flamenco in the North East of England, examines some of the ways in which flamenco can generate new and lasting communities of affiliation to the flamenco tradition and aesthetic.
