This table is absolutely MAGNIFICO!!!! Signed by the iconic Pietro Costantini, this gorgeous Postmodern Italian dining table is the epitome of fine and eclectic furniture. This dining table is very similar to styles that Pietro Costantini designed for Ello, and though this table is definitely signed by Costantini, we cannot confirm it has been imported by Ello. Either way, it is breathtaking! The base consists of two straight black lacquered panels holding a concave curved rectangular top that is lacquered black on the bottom and the inside top has a lacquered veneer inlay with abstract geometric designs in colors of gold, green, red, blue, and yellow. STUNNING! This fabulous base holds a 3/4-inch rectangle glass with a 1 ½-inch bevel. Obviously, this would make a gorgeous dining room table anywhere, but we can also imagine it as a dynamic executive desk. And we know it will be a showstopper when paired with beautiful contemporary chairs but just think how incredible and unexpected with a fabulous set of antique chairs! The ideas and combinations are endless. You must make it yours.

Price: $9,995 THIS BUFFET IS BELLISSIMA!!!!! Just look at this amazing Postmodern buffet, sideboard, or credenza by Pietro Costantini. Similar to other pieces by Costantini for Ello; but we can’t quite confirm that. However, we can confirm that this piece is signed and simply gorgeous! This Italian beauty is comprised of a highly lacquered black finish and a unique cylinder-shaped cabinet on the left side of the buffet with eye catching abstract geometrical shapes in colors of gold, green, red, blue, and orange. ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS! And somewhat reminiscent of the Memphis Group movement. Much like the action of a lazy Susan, the door spins and has a circular glass shelf in its center. The 3/4-inch circular glass top is new, but the angled cut piece of glass is original, 15 mm, and in beautiful condition as well. The center of the cabinet consists of four drawers with concave curved fronts. To the left of the drawers is a door that opens to reveal a glass shelf in the center. So much storage space!! The base is a narrow oblong shape and there are casters underneath, so mobility is convenient and easy. There are endless uses for this incredible piece. It would be wonderful in a dining room or living room, but this piece will make a statement wherever you place it. We know you have fallen in love with this buffet, now just make it yours!

Now THAT’S ITALIAN!!!!! Wow!! Feast your eyes on this magnificent Italian set of dining chairs attributed to Pietro Costantini! We are most certain about this attribution, although they are missing their labels, as they came to us along with a signed Pietro Costantini dining table and buffet. These were most likely imported and offered by Ello although they do not have the Ello tag attached either. This Postmodern set consists of eight fabulous black lacquered tripod style chairs, two armchairs and six side chairs. Each circle shaped seat wears its original black leather upholstery and rises on lifters upon the tripod base. The seat back, which is also the third leg of the tripod base, has an ergonomic curve that adds comfort and there is a subtle block design on the front of the seat back. The same concept applies with the two armchairs. The front legs extend above the circle seat and curve outward creating arms. Simple and stunning! Do yourself a favor and upgrade your dining experience with this prestigious dining set. Make it yours! Price: $7,995

Is there anything better than a good night’s sleep? Especially if you are sleeping on a bed as prestigious as this Ligne Roset Parallele platform bed which is attributed to Peter Maly! Well known for their elite collections, Ligne Roset has a reputation for quality, comfort, and unmatchable style. This Postmodern Italian piece is comprised of a beautiful ash wood veneer frame that holds webbed platform slats which alleviates the need for box springs. The mattress is included and sets right on the slats! The headboard is in two separate pieces and upholstered in a gaberdine-like corded fabric which is removeable if you only wish to use the platform. Its name, I’m fairly certain, is derived from the fact that the frame is comprised of two sets of horizontal parallel slabs that seem to float off the floor unsupported. Those horizontal pieces are in fact connected to vertical slabs that connect to the 5-inch rubber casters. The corners of the wood base have gray anodized plate aluminum spacers for an unexpected and attractive detail. AWESOME!! Just what you need for sweet dreams and stylish slumber! Ligne Roset is a French modern furniture company that has over 200 stores and more than 1000 distributers worldwide. The company was founded by Antoine Roset in 1860 in Montagnieu, France. At this time, it was just a small business that manufactured bentwood walking sticks and in 1936 they started manufacturing furniture. Known for its artful collaborations with both established and up-and-coming talents in contemporary design, Ligne Roset offers consumers an entire lifestyle in which to live both boldly and beautifully via its furniture collections and complementary decorative accessories, lighting, rugs, textiles, and occasional items. Matching its deeply held belief in design with investment and technical innovation, Ligne Roset has grown from a small business to a multinational company with factories and headquarters in France and more than 200 exclusive Ligne Roset stores and 1,000 retail distributors worldwide. All the while, the company has been family-run since its inception in 1860.

Price: $5,495 OH MAN!! Just look at this awesome pair of BOBO accent chairs!! These Postmodern beauties were previously located in an architect’s office which is a bit ironic considering they were designed by German architect Dietmar Sharping for Dauphin Furniture! They were designed in the early 1990’s for a sculptural seating program for Dauphin. Their ergonomic design with the undulating maple plywood back and bulbus seat is deceivingly comfortable. This pair is comprised of stunning red leather, natural maple backs, and polished aluminum feet. They would be fabulous in a sitting room, a den or office, or one on each side of a sofa or loveseat. They have so much personality and the possibilities are endless! We are in love with this pair of BOBO chairs and surely you must be too…make them yours!!

Price: $3,295 Aren’t these chairs fabulous?? We have 91 of these Dakota Jackson Vik-Ter dining chairs in four colors. We currently have 66, 18 red, 16 yellow, 19 orange, and 13 blue. You get to choose how many and what colors! Their original home was the Topeka Public Library which in 1998 was redesigned by the internationally renowned architect . The 100,000 square foot addition project’s furniture was completely specified by him as well. Not so coincidentally, Michael Graves collaborated with celebrity designer Dakota Jackson to design some of the most avant-garde and high style furniture in the 1980’s, including such works as the Vik-Ter dining chair. This chair design includes a welded steel frame with a cross stretcher and molded plywood seat and back. The Vik-Ter chair received a silver award for environmental design in the 1992 Industrial Design Excellence Awards and was shown in exhibitions at The Weatherspoon Art Gallery, Museum of Arts and Designs, and Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum. They are truly a work of art produced by an iconic duo of designers. So, whether you need one, four, twelve or all 66…you need to make them yours!!!

Price: $495 Isn’t this an awesome coffee table? End table? No, coffee table? Well, really it would be great as either. We aren’t sure if this beauty is a mass-produced table or custom designed. We’ve not found another like it and it really has a unique post-modern appearance. It reminds us of the rubber clad chairs by Brian Kane for Metropolitan. Its steel frame has a textured hammarite- like finish with shades of black and silver gray and is perched upon four locking casters. Foam/rubber bumpers not only give this coffee table a stylish look, but it also provides a little comfort in the corners for unforeseen smacks of the shin! The white laminate tabletop flips over if you want to change the look; however, the maple is faded and marked with an X from setting on the base all these years; so, will most likely need to be refinished if you wish to do that. This is a great accent table that will look wonderful however you choose to use it. Between two lounge chairs, in front of the sofa, as an end table holding some books, or in front of a window as a display table for your favorite piece. Its post-modern design will work well with your modern or mid-century modern décor and look fabulous in your industrial loft. So, whatever way you decide to use this table or your design style…you need to make it yours!

Move over modern….these eclectic benches are full of cutting- edge style and postmodern attitude! We have four of these bold and beautiful benches to offer and we are selling them per bench; so, we have numbered them to let you choose your favorite. They are comprised of a comfortable foam cushion upholstered in a vivid purple vinyl with contrasting double stripes of turquoise and a blue center stripe. Their flashy colors and unconventional shapes model the style of The Memphis Group and demand attention. The seat is held by two extruded brushed aluminum slab shaped tube legs. Their interesting design is backless but with arms! So, you could use them against a wall or float them in a sitting area or game room. All four of them have minor flaws; therefore, please take a close look at all the photos before you make your selection as photos are considered part of the condition report. If you’ve been looking for seating with some avant-garde postmodern flare, you found it! You need to make at least one and maybe all THREE of them yours!

È magnifico!! These Italian marble tables are that and more. Through our research we have determined they are in the style of the Italian company Up & Up and even though unmarked we feel can be attributed to them. Comprised of two large triangle tops supported by a full slab of perpendicular marble on the long side of the triangle with another placed at a right angle to the first. The seam where the leg connects to the top is beveled and virtually invisible. Simple and stunning. These triangles are bi-level and can be used in endless configurations as a coffee table. Plus, when separated they make a pair of marvelous end tables. Their black marble is exquisitely marked with beautiful white veining and ¾ inch in thickness. Although Post Modern in age and styling we think they are timeless and will blend gorgeously with a modern décor or mid-century modern and even or Industrial esthetic. Up and Up was established in 1969 and brought marble to the forefront as a favorite material of the greatest designers. After a decade of growth, in 1979, Up & Up became UpGroup. Located in Tuscany at the foot of the Apuan Alps between the blue sea and the white Carrara quarries, where Michelangelo selected his precious marbles to create his astonishing works, UpGroup’s list of designers using their marble and services is astounding. Celebrating the likes of Achille Castiglioni, Ettore Sottsass, Aldo Rossi, and Philippe Starck to name just a brief few.

We have fallen totally in love with them and know you have as well. Make these dual duty delta tables yours!

Holy moly just gaze upon this awesome pair of swivel chairs! They are asymmetrical having the swirl of a nautilus shell with one arm high and the other low, in the manner of the Nautilus chair designed by Vladimir Kagan. These wear their original wild jewel-tone contemporary fabric and were produced by Sam Moore Furniture, which is a La-Z-Boy company, so you know they are comfortable and well-made. Although I do love them in their original fabric, and even though it has been professionally cleaned, it does show a little age and I can imagine this pair in an oh-so-fabulous mohair. Can’t you? They are the perfect pair of chairs to flank a fireplace so you can swivel to face the fire or back to join in the conversation. They also make the perfect pair for a bedroom sitting area, den, or sunroom. Their incredible styling makes them complementary to many design styles from Art Deco to Hollywood Regency to Modern and even Mid-Century Modern. You must make them yours!

Wow! I wanted these. I wanted these black lacquer Post Modern dining chairs so badly in the 1970s! Now I have a set of six to offer to you. These are made by Pietro Costantini one of the premier furniture makers in Italy. And, although not tagged as such, were most likely imported and sold by Ello Furniture. They are comprised of a black lacquered frame with a tripod base with two front legs and the back single leg which is also the back of the chair. This chair back and leg is made up of 12 slats connect by a broad band at their top, a broader one at the seat placement and a narrower one at the bottom. So simple and yet so stunning.

Costantini Pietro began almost 100 years ago in 1922. A great family passion for wood resulted in the beginning of a dream with a small workshop which grew by the beginning of the 1950s into an industry with a wide range of seating and tables destined for distributors and international importers. Their success was built on their belief in Italian quality being about accuracy and details, experience and excellence, skilled craftsmen and control. By the 1980s the brand Costantini Pietro was entrenched and considered synonymous with luxury lifestyle, sophisticated modernity, and furniture to stand the test of time by interpreting the elegant and evolved taste of an international audience. They are still in operation today.

Ello Furniture was founded in Chicago by Lothar Molton in 1956, a few years after fleeing Nazi Germany with his family. In 1968 he moved the company to Rockford, Illinois and in 2010 it closed its doors. Ello’s motto wasContemporary Furniture of Distinction combined with Function plus Spectacular Glamour.

Ello’s motto and Costantini Pietro’s belief perfectly describes these wonderful chairs! You must make them yours.

These are fabulous and incredibly well-built postmodern club chairs or lounge chairs designed by the renowned architect and designer, Michael Graves. They were produced for contract use by the David Edward Company. These chairs were part of the redesign by Michael Graves in the 1990’s of our wonderful local library here in Topeka. Which, for just a tidbit of info, was named the 2019 National Library of the Year. The chairs are comprised of the signature postmodern rounded style of Graves with rounded backs and arms and supported by tapered light maple feet. They are chunky, comfortable, and wonderful. We have 17 in total and have priced them per chair so you may purchase multiples. They will need reupholstered, but we have restored and refinished the feet. These will be perfect for your home but are sturdy enough for commercial use. Just decide how many you want….and make them yours!

Michael Graves, 1934-2015, is one of the most prominent postmodern architects of the 20th century. He produced a prolific body of work which spanned office building, retail spaces, hospitals, and houseware products. It is noted he designed during his career more than 350 buildings and over 2500 products. He was born in Indiana; and in 1958 obtained a bachelor’s degree in architecture from the University of Cincinnati with a master’s degree from Harvard in 1959. He received the “Rome Prize” in 1960 and spent the next two years studying architecture at the American Academy in Rome. In 1962 upon his return to the U.S. he began a 39-year architecture professorship at Princeton University. In 1964 he founded his own architectural firm, Michael Graves & Associates. He is known as one of the “ Five” a group of young architects that championed a new and pure form of modernism. And in the 1980s Graves helped to shift the architectural conversation from pure forms to a new language of hybrid Postmodern design and was invited by Italian architect Ettore Sottsass to join his artistic collective Memphis. Mr. Graves designed products for the likes of Alessi, Dansk, Disney, JC Penney, Swid Powell, and even Target. After an illness that left him paralyzed from the waist down, he became an advocate for health-oriented design. He won multiple prestigious awards during his career and passed away at the age of 80 renowned and beloved in 2015.

Now you can own a piece of Michael Grave’s design. Make one or several of these awesome chairs yours!

Now that’s Italian!! Just look at this gorgeous dining table. In the style of Costantini Pietro of Italy for Ello Furniture. Comprised of a V-shaped base (or is it a Y-shape?) that holds the large .5 inch thick glass top with a one-inch beveled edge. The base is lacquered black on the outside and the inside of the V has the most fantastic burlwood on one side and an abstract veneer inlay on the other in colors of yellow and purple and green and red and off white and blue. It is absolutely stunning! This will obviously make a gorgeous dining room table anywhere, but I can also imagine it as a dynamic executive desk. And I know it will be a showstopper when paired with beautiful contemporary chairs but just think how incredible and unexpected with a fabulous set of antique chairs! The ideas and combination are endless. You must make it yours.

Wow! We are in love with these Post-Modern treasures! I don’t know whether you should use these interesting and wonderful maple hand crafted chairs or put them on a pedestal. Comprised of solid maple. The back and back legs are in the shape of a capital printed “I” and the front pair of legs an “H” with the crossbar set low. There is a square crossbar from the front to the back tying the sets of legs together. A thinner square formed of planks of maple makes up the seat which is supported by the tops of the “H” uprights and intersects the column of the “I”. The seat has a “U” shape slightly carved in it that perfectly cradles your rump. These would be the perfect spot to sit to put on your shoes or they could double as night stands or side tables. Maybe that extra seating you need in the kitchen. Surprising to their hard and blocky look they are quite comfy. The chairs are signed by the artist, Brice B. Durbin, and dated March 1996 in Topeka, Kansas. We have been unable to locate him or find any information about him. But whoever and wherever he is, he did a marvelous job!! You need to make these yours.
