Conference games still tied after a five-minute 5-on-5 overtime advance to a five-minute 3-on-3 overtime (and sudden victory shootout if still tied) with the team that wins the second overtime/shootout receiving an extra point in the standings (3/SW in the standings), making all games worth three (3) points. The 3-on-3 overtime and shootouts only affect conference standings, while the game is officially a tie for NCAA purposes. NCHC Facts and Figures This Week’s Games • All eight NCHC teams face non-conference foes this weekend, with Friday, Oct. 19 all but one of the 16 games taking place in an NCHC venue. Three of No. 19 Western Michigan at No. 11/10 Michigan, 7:30 p.m. ET the series come against opponents, while three also come No. 2/3 Notre Dame at Omaha, 6:30 p.m. CT (TV: CBSSN) against WCHA foes. The remaining two series are against Big Ten rivals. UMass Lowell at Miami, 7:35 p.m. ET Overall, NCHC teams are 14-6-3 in non-conference play so far this season, Maine at No. 3/2 Minnesota Duluth, 7:07 p.m. CT with the .674 win percentage second-best among the six men’s Division I Northern Michigan at No. 4/4 St. Cloud State, 7:07 p.m. CT (TV: FSN+) conferences (Big Ten at .769).
