ORDER NO. 14-21-05 MCCLOUD RIVER LOOP DISPERSED CAMPING RESTRICTION SHASTA MCCLOUD MANAGEMENT UNIT SHASTA-TRINITY NATIONAL FOREST Pursuant to 16 U.S.C. § 551 and 36 C.F.R. § 261.50(a), and to protect natural resources, the following act is prohibited within the Shasta McCloud Management Unit of the Shasta-Trinity National Forest. This Order is effective from April 15, 2021, through April 14, 2023.

Overnight camping, outside of designated developed campgrounds, in the McCloud River Loop Dispersed Camping Restriction Area. The boundary of this area begins at the intersection of State Highway 89 and the western edge of Section 1, Township 39 North, Range 2 West, Mount Diablo Meridian (MDM), then continues east along the southern edge of California State Highway 89 to its intersection with the eastern edge of Section 35, Township 40 North, Range 1 West, MDM, then continues south along the section line to its intersection with the northern edge of Section 11, Township 39 North, Range 1 West, MDM, then continues west along the section line to its intersection with the western edge of the McCloud River (Section 10, Township 39N, Range 1W, MDM), then continues west along the northern edge of the McCloud River to its intersection with the Shasta-Trinity National Forest boundary (Section 13, Township 39N, Range 2W, MDM), then continues west along the northern edge of the Shasta-Trinity National Forest boundary to the western edge of Section 12, Township 39 North, Range 2 West, MDM, then continues north along the section line back to the starting point, as shown on the attached map.

Pursuant to 36 C.F.R. § 261.50(e), the following persons are exempt from this order:

1. Persons with Forest Service Permit No. FS-7700-48 (Permit for Use of Roads, Trails, or Areas Restricted by Regulation or Order), specifically exempting them from this Order.

2. Any Federal, State, or local officer, or member of an organized rescue or fire fighting force in the performance of an official duty.

This prohibition is in addition to the general prohibitions found in 36 C.F.R. Part 261, Subpart A and all other orders issued pursuant to 36 C.F.R. Part 261, Subpart B.

A violation of this prohibition is punishable by a fine of not more than $5,000 for an individual or $10,000 for an organization, or imprisonment for not more than six months, or both. 16 U.S.C. § 551 and 18 U.S.C. §§ 3559, 3571, and 3581.
