To qualify for the Bronze Medal, exhibitors must enter the exhibit’s name and registration on the entry form, which will be printed in the catalogue.

The following is required by the W.P.& C.S: - Animal‟s name and registration number to be included in the catalogue. Name of sire and dam (particularly in the case of foals) to be included in the catalogue. Name of the recorded owner as it appears in the animal‟s passport at the time of the show. A final copy of the catalogue will have been lodged with the W.P. & C.S. BEFORE the show.

The fee for each entry is £4.00 unless stated otherwise.

REGULATIONS RELATING TO LIVESTOCK AND OTHER EXHIBITS ENTERED AT LLANEDI SHOW – HEALTH AND SAFETY AT WORK ACT, 1974 SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

Special attention is directed to the safety requirements set out in the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and any subsequent legislation. The Society holds exhibitors whol ly responsible for the observance of statutory regulations governing livestock and other exhibits by them. All exhibitors are accepted for adjudication on the understanding that they are capable of complying with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and the regulations which come under that Act. Failure to comply with the statutory regulations will mean that the exhibitor will be asked to remove his/her exhibit from the showground. Persons are admitted to the Showground at their own risk and every endea vour is taken to ensure their safety. The Society will not (save for death or personal injury caused by negligence of the Society, its servants or agents) be responsible for personal injury (whether fatal or otherwise), loss or damage to property and any other loss, damage, costs and expenses, however caused. Persons are admitted to the Showground at their own risk and vehicles, their accessories and contents are admitted to and left in the Showground at the owners risk. While every endeavour is taken to ensure the safety thereof, the Society will not (save for death or personal injury caused by negligence of the Society, its servants or agents) be responsible for personal injury (whether fatal or otherwise), loss or damage to property and any other loss, damage, costs and expenses, however caused. The Society, its officers or servants, shall not be responsible for any person whatsoever while upon the Society’s premises, or leaving the same, for any damage or loss, however caused, to the property of any such person, or for any injury, fatal or otherwise, to any such person. The Society, its officers or servants, shall not be responsible for any accidents, damage or loss, however caused, that may occur to any exhibitors or his/her servants, or to any animal, articles or property brought to the showground, or while entering or leaving or being carried into or out of the said Showground. Each exhibitor shall be solely responsible for any loss, injury or damage that may be done to, or occasioned by, or arising from any animal, article or property exhibited or brought onto the Showground by him/her and he/she shall indemnify and hold harmless the Society from against all actions, suits, expenses and claims on account of or in respect of any such damage or injury which may be caused or occasioned. It is recommended that all exhibitors insure against such liabilities as they may incur under these regulations.

HORTICULTURAL, COOKERY, HANDICRAFTS AND CHILDREN’S CLASSES

All exhibits to be displayed in main marquee by 11.00 am on the show day and to remain until 3.00 pm.

Entry fee: 30 pence per item per class - Children‟s classes are free.

Class Description 18 Photograph of a Welsh Seascape or landscape. No larger than A5 (148 x 210mm). All photographs must be mounted or framed. 19 A recycled item - made from a hard material where the function changes (e.g. such as using driftwood to make a house sign.) 20 A recycled item - made from a soft material (e.g. such as old curtains made into a handbag) 21 Create a picture on the theme of the flowers using either paint, pastels, pencils or crayons, etc. No larger than A4 (210 x 297 mm). Must be mounted or framed. 22 Create a picture on the theme of the seaside using fabric and threads. No larger than A3 (297 x 420 m).

33 Create an animal or fish using waste product such as plastic / cardboard or other items which are usually discarded or recycled (ages 12-16 years) Create a drawing that is based on the theme of „hustle and bustle‟, in one or more combination of materials, e.g. paint, pencil, crayon, pastel or ink. For the following age groups: 34 - 5 years and under.

35 - 6-11 years.

HANDWRITING

Class Description 36 Best handwriting - Open to children aged 5 and under. A handwritten copy of a poem or letter of own choice in English or Welsh. 37 Best handwriting - Open to children aged 6-7. A handwritten copy of a poem or letter of own choice in English or Welsh. 38 Best handwriting - Open to children aged 8-9. A handwritten copy of a poem or letter of own choice in English or Welsh. 39 Best handwriting - Open to children aged 10 -11. A handwritten copy of a poem or letter of own choice in English or Welsh.

RULES AND REGULATIONS

1. Entry fee per class for Horse & Pony Showing Classes is £4.00 per exhibit, unless otherwise stated. 2. No entries accepted without correct entry fees. 3. Closing date for receipt of entries for all WPCS medal show classes is Friday 26th July 2019. 4. No entries for Welsh A, B, C or D will be accepted after the closing date in accordance with WP&CS requirements. Late entries for all other horse classes will be subject to a surcharge of £2 per entry. 5. Prize money, unless otherwise stated in the schedule, for all horse and pony sections will be Champion £20 Reserve Champion £10. Supreme Champion £40, Reserve Supreme Champion £20. 6. Any objections must be made in writing to the Secretary within one hour of the judging of the particular class/incident and must be accompanied by a £25 fee which will be forfeited if the objection is overruled. This ruling will be strictly adhered to. All decisions are final. 7. Please NOTE – ALL CUPS are PERPETUAL and are to be returned to the Cup Secretary, Debbie Grimshaw, one month prior to the next Show. Any cups not returned on time will be replaced at the cost of the previous recipient. 8. All entries must be made using the relevant entry form provided and signed by the exhibitor 9. No entries will be accepted from an exhibitor under 18 years of age without a completed entry form signed by the exhibitor’s parent or guardian. 10. The decision of the judges shall be final. 11. All servants or owners in charge of stock will be subject to the orders of the stewards and any servant or owner disobeying such orders will be liable to be fined or expelled from the show field. 12. The Society will not in any case, or under any circumstances, hold itself responsible for any loss, damage, mis-delivery, illness or accident that may occur through or to any exhibitor or spectator and it shall be a condition of entry that such exhibitors shall hold the Society blameless, and indemnify it against any legal proceedings from any of the above named circumstances. 13. A number label, to be collected from the Secretary’s office, for each exhibit, must be placed in clear view for the stewards before the animal can enter the show ring. 14. The Society reserve themselves the right of accepting or rejecting any entry without stating its reasons for so doing, and to cancel any class and return entries and fees three days prior to the show. 15. All eligible exhibits in the horse/pony classes must compete in the Supreme Championship as required by the Society or prize money will be withheld. Those required to compete in the Supreme Championship will be informed by announcement on the public address system. It is the exhibitor’s responsibility to be present for judging. 16. A £2.00 fee is to be paid by each exhibitor in the horse and pony sections and show jumping section for first aid cover, as detailed on the Entry Form. 17. The Society shall have the power to settle any matter which is not covered by the foregoing rules. 18. The Society shall be called the “Llanedi Agricultural Society”.
