The two-ho event will be Thursday, September 11 at 7 p.m. at the James Moore Theater ofthe Oakland M seum of California, Oak and 10th Streets, one block from BART's Lake Merritt station.

e media organizations are sponsoring the event as part oftheir Voice of the Voter program, which eks to bring citizens' concerns to the attention ofpublic officials.

Topics are: "Crossing Conundrum: Can The Bay Bridge be a Workhorse and a Work ofArt?" uAC Transit's Tribulations: Is This Bus Terminal?" and 66Mopeds to Mag Levs: Transportation Alternatives for Bipeds."

Speakers include representatives from Caltrans, the Metropolitan Transit Commission, AC Transit, BART and other transit and advocacy organizations.

Audience members who have signed up in advance may comment or ask a question after each topic. There isa limit of one question per person per topic. The Gate will do a Iive Webcast of the event and internet users may send their questions via e-mail to: [email protected].

BayTV (Channel 35 on most cable stations) will broadcast the forum on a date to be determined. FM Radio will tape and edit the forum to one hour and air it at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Sept 14, \77 KQED 88.5 and Wednesday, Sept. 17, at 8 p.m.

The Voice ofthe Voter partners have hosted Unlock The Gridiock forums in Burlingame, Walnut Creek, San Jose and . The project is underwritten by the Pew Center for Civic Journalism.
