  • Railways List
A guide and list to a collection of Historic Railway Documents www.railarchive.org.uk to e mail click here December 2017 1 Since July 1971, this private collection of printed railway documents from pre grouping and pre nationalisation railway companies based in the UK; has sought to expand it‟s collection with the aim of obtaining a printed sample from each independent railway company which operated (or obtained it‟s act of parliament and started construction). There were over 1,500 such companies and to date the Rail Archive has sourced samples from over 800 of these companies. Early in 2001 the collection needed to be assessed for insurance purposes to identify a suitable premium. The premium cost was significant enough to warrant a more secure and sustainable future for the collection. In 2002 The Rail Archive was set up with the following objectives: secure an on-going future for the collection in a public institution reduce the insurance premium continue to add to the collection add a private collection of railway photographs from 1970‟s onwards provide a public access facility promote the collection ensure that the collection remains together in perpetuity where practical ensure that sufficient finances were in place to achieve to above objectives The archive is now retained by The Bodleian Library in Oxford to deliver the above objectives. This guide which gives details of paperwork in the collection and a list of railway companies from which material is wanted. The aim is to collect an item of printed paperwork from each UK railway company ever opened.

Visioning West Norwood and Tulse Hill Introduction Visioning West Norwood and Tulse Hill: Have your Say! The Lambeth Local Plan 2015 sets out planning policies for Lambeth to guide growth in Projects housing, jobs, infrastructure delivery, place-shaping and the quality of the built environment over the next 15 years to 2030. Together with the London Plan, it forms the development plan Delivered for the borough. The spatial strategy and strategic objectives for West Norwood and Tulse Hill are set out in Policies PN7 and ED1 of the Local Plan. PN7 promotes the role of West Norwood as a vibrant district centre through the development of key sites. The area includes West Norwood Commercial Area to the south, which is designated as ‘Key Industrial Business Areas’ (KIBAs) by ED1. The Council is preparing a Masterplan for the West Norwood and Tulse Hill area to expand on the guidance in the Local Plan and provide a framework for managing change and development in this area. A Masterplan is a framework. It sets out key principles of an area, and creates a vision for its future. It shows the overall development concept that includes urban design, landscaping, infrastructure, service provision, present and future land uses and built form. This work will provide the evidence for the Local Plan Review that is currently underway. Through this piece of work, we are developing four interlinked documents to Interlinked documents: guide growth and investment in future years. • An Economic Vision for West Norwood & Tulse Hill to guide economic growth and

  • EFDC Air Quality Progress Report April 2013
2013 Air Quality Progress Report for: Epping Forest District Council In fulfillment of Part IV of the Environment Act 1995 Local Air Quality Management Date (June, 2013) Epping Forest District Council Local Authority Fay Rushby Officer Department Public Health Environment & Street Scene Address Epping Forest District Council Civic Offices High Street Epping Essex CM16 4BZ Telephone 01992 564496 e-mail [email protected] Report WK/201214649 Reference number Date June 2013 LAQM Progress Report 2013 Epping Forest District Council Executive Summary Epping Forest District is an attractive, predominantly commuter area on the north eastern edge of London. The air quality in the district is reasonably good. There are two large motorways in the district; the M25 and the M11 however the main source of air pollution in the district is local road traffic with increased concentrations of vehicle emissions related polutants limited to congested high street areas and busy junctions. The District Council has completed all rounds of the review and assessment to date, which led to a number of detailed assessments for nitrogen dioxide. Air Quality Management Areas (AQMA) were declared for Epping High Street in 2010, and Bell Vue, Bell Common in 2011. The Epping High Street AQMA was declared solely on the basis of modelling information, but was revoked in 2011 on the completion of diffusion tube monitoring, which confirmed that nitrogen dioxide were below the air quality objective. All other reports judged that it was not necesarry to declare any further AQMA. This Progress Report builds on previous air quality work, and reports on 2012 monitoring data.

Message from the Chairman Good evening, ladies and gentlemen, and a warm welcome to the Network Theatre Company's production of Romeo and Juliet . Andy Bradshaw directs, with his inimitable style, a large and experienced cast in this popular Shakespeare play, ably supported by his backstage crew. What a wealth of talent we have in the Network Theatre Company, as you will see from this production. Congratulations to everyone involved. Tonight you will be sitting in a recently refurbished auditorium. Under the guidance of Paul Lunnon, a dedicated crew has removed the old staging and seating rostra, and has replaced them with a new, adaptable layout, making our theatre more comfortable and practical. We, in the NTC, are very grateful for all the hard (and heavy) work undertaken. So, tonight: sit back and enjoy the show (our third production this year). Enjoy the performances, the music, the dancing, and new stage and seating layout. May I also remind you that the Green Room bar is open before and after the show, as well as during the interval, and thank you for your support. Kay Murray Chairman of the Network Theatre Company June 2011 A Word from the Director Staging Romeo and Juliet is a challenge. It has been done and done and done thousands of times. It was not without trepidation therefore, that I approached this production. What, I wondered, could there be done that has not already been done? The answer came, as so many do, in a moment of quiet lucidity: truth... You see, I have seen so many productions of this show I have lost count.

Heritage & Community Railways unite to encourage day trippers to make a day of it – on the trains! August 27, 2021 The Heritage Railway Association (HRA) is backing Community Rail Network’s ‘Days Out by Rail’ campaign to encourage more day trippers to leave the car at home and take the train, well two trains in fact, for an educational and fun filled day out at one of the many Heritage Railways accessible from the main line. The idea, to use community railways to travel to one of the 32 heritage railway lines connected to the national network or have an interchange with it*, is part of a wider national awareness campaign to highlight green, scenic leisure travel by rail. The eight-week initiative being led by Community Rail Network’s tourism arm, Scenic Rail Britain, is raising awareness about rail as one of the greenest ways to travel – especially combined with walking, cycling and buses – avoiding traffic jams and parking and making the journey part of the experience. HRA CEO, Steve Oates said: “Days Out by Rail may sound familiar for those of us of a certain age who remember as a child setting off for a day out on the train with the family Rover Ticket or Away Day special on the Intercity 125. Updating the idea of Days Out by Rail not only encourages travel but, this time, sustainable travel. What better way to enjoy the UK rail network through the ages in one day, travelling from a local station on the national network to link up with a heritage line? “It is definitely much more relaxing that being behind the wheel in a traffic jam on your way to a tourist attraction.
