Surprisingly enough, if I asked you about one of the greatest mass killings in the world after WWII, I wouldn’t be surprised if you said the war in Iraq, Afghanistan or Pakistan. The death toll in these three countries combined is recorded to be approximately 371,000 people since 2001according to Watson Institute – Cost of War. This is not close to half the great genocide of Rwanda that claimed almost a million lives. The Democratic Republic of Congo is well known for its richness in natural resources and minerals such as gold, diamond, coltan, petroleum to name a few.

To assist with providing some statistical information on Cyberbullying I have attached a Case Study list of Cyberbullying Offenders in Australia over the period of 2010 to 2011. My Original Case List contained some 22 Cases and I have added to this with a Supplementary Case List (Appendix A), to reveal a Total of 30 Offenders for this same period. I have included some additional and relevant Case Studies from the USA and the UK to help present the broad nature and extent that Cyberbullying now presents. I have also included some relevant information from the UK on the latest involvement of Facebook working with the UK Police actively engaged in Policing the Internet and sending out Warning Notices to Offenders and their Parents when detected of Cyberbullying Behaviour. I have also included some relevant information on the Australian situation and address the fact that at least one Australian Expert, Professor Ken Rigby has acknowledged the fact that: “Prof Rigby said most children tended to grow out of bullying.” “But there is a small group of about 10 per cent who are identified as being extreme bullies in early secondary and they continue, and these are the people we are most concerned about." I would like to point out that this small group of about 10 % of students - need to be streamed into a Police Charge / Caution – Court Diversionary Program – with a Restorative Justice Approach.

Toby Schmitz returns to the Belvoir stage, after a three year absence, in The Rover by Aphra Behn. Schmitz takes the swashbuckling titular role in this raucous and outrageous battle of the sexes from the woman widely considered the first professional female playwright. Flack has reunited his award-winning team from his 2014 sell out hit The Glass Menagerie to find the same freshness and beauty in Henrik Ibsen’s Ghosts. Pamela Rabe stars as the fierce mother Helene Alving. ‘Our 2016 Season has been very much about reflecting on our past, both for Belvoir and in a wider cultural sense,’ says Flack. ‘With the 2017 Season we are taking an imaginative leap into the future. In this season, characters dream big in the midst of disaster and confusion. They fight passionately for a brighter future. This is a season of plays that unleashes the possibility that maybe the 21st century won’t be an unmitigated disaster.’ Two of the most inventive and exciting plays out of New York’s Playwrights Horizons in recent years are Hir by Taylor Mac and Anne Washburn’s Mr Burns, a Post-Electric Play, and they are both in our 2017 Season.

I met the owner of a great little bookstore who Canberra International Film Festival acknowledges the financial assistance of showed me a cookbook (she said her mother swore by it) called Talk About Good. Why am I talking about Creole cooking and a book? Because this year’s Festival feels like it has all the right ingredients and recipes – a gumbo for every palate – talk about good! The festival has expanded considerably – 75 screenings, 41 films, Founding Partner Major Partners 12 days – and served from the state-of-the-art facilities at the Dendy Cinemas and Arc Cinema. Screenings at the NFSA are legendary, and this year there are 5 totally gourmet selections, including Fassbinder’s epic.
