Newport Nutrition Improving nutrition is currently a public health priority. There are major concerns about the continuing rise in obesity rates – particularly in young people. It is becoming increasingly important to prevent nutrition-related health problems through joined-up, evidence-based action on nutrition. CONTENTS AUTUMN 2005-AUTUMN 2007 1 Introduction 2

Each plan identifies the local objective, the timescale of the initiatives, the funding source and lead agencies. The action plans aim to provide a focus for action for the following two years, and are displayed in the next section of this document.

3.2.2 Monitoring and Evaluation The objectives set within the priority action plans will be regularly monitored and evaluated by individual sub-groups at a bi-monthly meeting. The Newport Action Group will continue to meet on a quarterly basis in order to receive updates from sub-group leaders, review and update objectives and monitor progress of work.

The Newport Nutrition Action Plan will be reviewed annually.
