About the Contributors

George Leal Jamil is a professor of Fumec and several post-graduation courses from , . He has a PhD in Information Science from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), Master degree in Computer Science (UFMG), and his graduate area was Electric Engineering (UFMG). He is currently teaching a post-doctorate program at FLUP–Communication School at Uni- versity of Porto, Portugal. He has written 14 books in the information technology and strategic manage- ment areas, with another 8 works in books as co-author and editor. Yearly, he manages the doctoral consortium of the International Conference on Information Systems and Technology Management at the University of Sao Paulo (USP) as one of his main activities. His main research interests are informa- tion systems management, strategy, knowledge management, software engineering, marketing, and IT adoption in business contexts.

Armando Malheiro da Silva (born 1957) in an associate Professor at the Faculty of Arts and Hu- manities of the University of Porto (Portugal) and is member of the research centre CETAC.MEDIA (Centre of Studies in Technologies and Communication Sciences). He has a degree in Philosophy and another in History and obtained the diploma of the Librarian-Archivist Course from the University of Coimbra. His PhD is in Contemporary History from the University of Minho. He shares his research through some areas such as Information Science, Mith Analysis, political and ideological History of Portugal in the 19th-20th centuries, Family history and Local studies. He is author of several books and articles and recently conducted a research project on Information Literacy of university students.

Fernanda Ribeiro (born 1958) is an associate Professor at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of University of Porto (Portugal) and is member of the research centre CETAC.MEDIA (Centre of Studies in Technologies and Communication Sciences). Previously, she worked as an archivist at the Municipal Archives of Porto. She has a degree in History and obtained the diploma of the Librarian-Archivist Course from the University of Coimbra. Her PhD in Information Science is from University of Porto with a dissertation titled “The Access to Information in Archives.” During the last 25 years, she devoted her academic research to access and retrieval of information in archives, subject indexing, classification, information evaluation, theory and methodology of Information Science, as well as LIS professional training. She is co-author of a Portuguese manual of Archival Science under the title Arquivística: Teoria e Prática de uma Ciência da Informação (1999), which received a prize from the Portuguese Associa- tion of Librarians, Archivists, and Documentalists (BAD) and of another book titled Das “Ciências” Documentais à Ciência da Informação: Ensaio Epistemológico Para um Novo Modelo Curricular (2002).

Alan César Belo Angeluci is a PhD candidate on Sciences with emphasis on Electronic Systems at the Polytechnic School of University of São Paulo (USP), with a sandwich period at University of Brighton, UK. He submitted his Master to the Digital Television Program of University of State of São Paulo (UNESP). Adelaide Maria de Souza Antunes is a researcher of National Institute of Industrial Property - INPI, Brazil, and Federal University of Rio de Janeiro - UFRJ, Brazil.

Carlos Henrique Ávila Cruz is a student and professional of Telecommunications and IT areas, working with projects related to researches and infrastructure, including his undergraduate at University Fumec, in Brazil.

Jorge Lima de Magalhães is a Chemist, Master’s and Doctor of Science by Federal University of Rio de Janeiro/Brazil, Post-doctorate by Université de Provence Aix Marseille, France (Laboratoire IR- SIC EA4262 - Institut de Recherche en Sciences de l’Information et de la Communication) Competitive Intelligence for Public Health (2013). He works at the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (Fiocruz) and has held management position as Production Manager (1999-2003), Operation Assessor (2003-2005). He has ex- tensive experience in Production of Medicines, both in the private and in public market (1986-currently). He is currently a Researcher in Public Health, with emphasis in the area of Innovation and Technological Management, acting in R&D on the following topics: Pharmaceutical, Pharmochemicals, and Public Health (Cancer, AIDS, and neglected diseases).

Sérgio Maravilhas has a PhD in Information and Communication in Digital Platforms (UA + UP), a Master in Information Management (FEUP and Sheffield University, UK), a Postgraduate Course in ICT (FEUP), a Specialization in Innovation and Technological Entrepreneurship (FEUP and North Carolina State University, USA), and a 5 years Degree in Philosophy, Educational Branch (FLUP). A Teacher and Trainer since 1998, passed by ESE - IPP as a Supervisor at the Internet at School project between 2002 and 2005, and a university teacher since 2005 at UA (DEGEI), and since 2010 at ULP and IESFF in Masters and MBA levels. Teaches Marketing, Research Methods, Creative Processes in Innovation, Intellectual and Industrial Property, Technology Watch, Information Management and Organizational Behavior in and he’s a trainer in ICT, Sales, Negotiation, and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP). Publishes and attends conferences mainly in the subjects of patent information, innovation, Web 2.0, Webradio, and sustainability.

Tiago Oliveira joined the Air Force Academy in September 2006 for the Master’s Degree in Mili- tary Aviation, specializing in Pilot-Aviator. He completed the theoretical part of his education in 2011, with a Master degree dissertation in the area of Organizational Engineering. In 2012, he completed the flight training and now, besides flying at Portuguese Air Force, he studies for a second master degree in Economy and Management of Science, Technology, and Innovation at ISEG–Instituto Superior de Economia e Gestão, Technical University of Lisbon.

Carlos Páscoa (PhD, UTL/IST) works for the Portuguese Air Force, at the Headquarters in the Operations Division and teaches Organizational and Design Engineering at the Air Force Academy. He is also a researcher at the Air Force Academy. He has taught Operational Force Employment and Staff Studies at the Air Force Staff College, and he is a frequent speaker at the Joint Staff College. He has, since 2009, more than 40 publications on Enterprise Architecture, Enterprise Engineering, Enterprise Governance, Organizational Change, and Organizational Competencies. He has, since 2010, supervised 25 master theses in the area of Organizational and Design Engineering at the Air Force Academy and at Instituto Superior Técnico (Technical University of Lisbon).

Brasilina Passarelli is a Full Professor of School of Communications and Arts at the Universidade de São Paulo (ECA-USP) and Head of Department of Library and Documentation. She submitted her Master and PhD to Communication Sciences Program of ECA-USP, with a sandwich period at Michigan State University, USA. Her Post-doctoral research was about New Profiles for Information Managers. She advises Master and PhD degrees at Communication Sciences Program of USP. She is also the scientific coordinator of the Research Center for New Communications Technologies Applied to Education–School of the Future–USP, leading studies on connected population from a quantitative and qualitative ethnographic research approach.

Antonio-Juan Briones Peñalver has a Mention of European Doctorate (Doctorate with European accreditation) and Extraordinary Doctorate Award from the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (Spain), 2007/2008. Assistant Professor of the Business Administration Department During the last fourteen years, he has taught Strategic Management. His research topics include knowledge management, entre- preneurs, business cooperation, innovation firms, and government defense industry. He has supervised a completed PhD project and several international projects in international academic cooperation, stra- tegic agribusiness, tourism diversification, and security systems between Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and the Region of Murcia (Spain).

Cláudio Roberto Magalhães Pessoa is a teacher and researcher at School of Engineering of Uni- versity Fumec, in Brazil. Civil Engineering, post-graduated as Telecommunications and Computer Networks professional, Masters in Administration is now at a PhD program in Information Science at Federal University of Minas Gerais. He is also recognized as a consultant and analyst of information security and network planning.

Olívia Pestana is Guest Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto, lecturing in the Master of Information Science. Has worked since 1997 in the health sector as Chief Librarian and Research Information Manager in a hospital of the Portuguese National Health Service. PhD in Information and Communication in Digital Platforms, she is, since 2011, researcher at the Centre for Studies in Technology and Communication Science from the University of Porto. Her main areas of interest are Information Management, Health Information, Science Communication, and Research Methodology.

Luc Quoniam is a Chemist Analytique & Protection de l’Environnement by Université Aix Marseille III (1981), undergraduate Océanologie Université Aix Marseille III (1984), MA in Océanologie Uni- versité Aix Marseille II (1985), and Ph.D. in Science l’Information et de la Communication Université Aix Marseille III (1988). He is currently a professor at the Université du Sud Toulon Var, a researcher at Université Paris 8 Vincennes-Saint-Denis, Reviewer periodic meetings Bibliometric, and member of the editorial board of Les Cahiers du Numerique. He has experience in Information Science with an emphasis in Information Science and Communication.

José Rascão (PhD, ISCTE/ULI) is a Professor of management information systems at the Polytechnic Institute of Setubal. Is Director of course management of distribution and logistics. Is a researcher in the Research Unit in the development of enterprise (UNIDE) at the Lisbon University Institute (ISCTE-IUL) and in business Science Research Center (CICE) at Polytechnic of Institute of Setubal. Since 2000 has published 6 books on strategic management and management of information and more than 20 publi- cations on strategy and information management. Under his supervision, 5 Masters theses have been successfully from 2007 to 2013, with 2 more coming up for defense in next 2 years. He also works as private management consultant for large and medium-sized enterprises. He worked as a management consultant at Price Waterhouse and Coopers & Lybrand between 1989 and 1995.

José Manuel Tribolet (PhD, M.I.T.) is Full Professor of Information Systems at IST/UTL–Instituto Superior Técnico, Technical University of Lisbon, responsible for courses in Enterprise Information Systems and Organizational Engineering, and President of INESC, the largest Portuguese private research institute. He is a senior researcher at the Center for Organizational Design and Engineering (CODE) of INOV - INESC INOVAÇÃO, where he has, since 2000, more than 100 publications on Enterprise Architecture, Engineering, Governance, and Transformation. Under his supervision, 8 Ph.D. theses have been successfully defended from 2007 to 2012, with 3 more coming up for defence in the next 4 years. He also works as private executive counsellor for top executives in business and public administration. He plays a leading government advisory role in GPERRTIC, a national strategic program to rationalize and improve the Information Systems and ITC infrastructures of the Portuguese public administration.
