■EXCHANGE STUDENT PROGRAM

Requirement and exchange period Students from sister are able to be admitted to Hongik as exchange students. The exchange period is generally one semester. (Student can extend maximum 3 more semesters. 4 semester available total)

Applications and documents needed 1. Completed application form for exchange students 2. Recommendation letter (from a faculty of the school presently attending) 3. Cover letter (self-introduction and study plan) 4. Official transcript 5. Portfolio (required only for College of Fine Arts and College of Architecture applicants) 6. Copy of passport (the first page with photo) 7. 4 Photo Pictures (size 35mmx45mm)

The deadline of the application 1. The end of May (applicants for the Fall semester) 2. The end of November (applicants for the Spring semester)

*Semester Calendar Spring Semester: Beginning of March to mid-June Fall semester: Beginning of September to mid-December

The tuition fee and to register for classes Accepted exchange students are exempt from paying tuition to and are allowed to register for courses (up to 18 credit units per semester; contingent upon receiving instructors' permission)

Accommodation 1. Dormitory on campus 1 room for 2 persons: 931,000won(*for the 2015 fall semester)/ 6 months (exclusive of meals)

2. Off Campus housing Student is responsible for obtaining off-campus housing on his/her own but the International Center may provide some assistance.

Applicable department

All department in Hongik is available for exchange students from our sister institute however, we are afraid that Hongik hardly have English lectures yet. In case of Art department, workshop takes major part of each course so language might not be big problem. Please consider this matter and recommend to your student accordingly.

Requirement and exchange period Foreign students who are not from our sister university are able to be admitted to Hongik as visiting students. The visiting period is generally one semester. (Student can extend maximum 3 more semesters. 4 semester available total)

Documents for submission 1. Completed application form for visiting students 2. Recommendation letter (from a faculty of the school presently attending) 3. Cover letter (self-introduction and study plan) 4. Certified transcript 5. Portfolio (required only for College of Fine Arts and College of Architecture applicants) 6. Copy of passport (the first page with photo) 7. Application fee : 100,000 KRW

The deadline of the application 1. The end of May (applicants for the Fall semester) 2. The end of November (applicants for the Spring semester)

The tuition fee and to register for classes The Visiting students who are allowed to enter our school can take 18 credits (which need approve each class of professor) and have to pay the tuition fee to our school.

(* for the 2013 academic year) 4,492,000 KRW (Korean Won) per term for the following Colleges: College of Engineering, College of Architecture, College of Fine Arts, College of Science and Technology (Sejong Campus), College of Design and Arts (Sejong Campus)

3,424,000 KRW (Korean Won) per term for the rest
