Director’s Notes

Blackadder—it’s one of the things that makes me laugh, a lot! I especially like the Elizabethan episodes, so when I decided to direct again it had to be this. I have chosen to do the four episodes we are presenting tonight as they have the most remembered characters in them.

I then had to assemble a cast to portray these well-known characters. How lucky I have been to get the actors I have. They have worked tirelessly to get to grips with their characters’ mannerisms and foibles. As you can imagine, rehearsals have been hysterical.

I really hope you will be entertained and laugh as much as I will during this evening. So sit back, have a glass of something and enjoy the antics of Edmund and company.
