KDKB Splits FM Et AM Program ming KDKB-FM and Am/Phoenix, programmed on an AOR simulcast basis for the past six years, has split their program ming as of October 20th. The AM daytimer now features the automated Bonneville soft AOR package, while the 24-hour FM (which has historically reached the bulk of the audience with stereo and a better signal) continues its present AOR stance. When asked KDKB-FMif will change in any way, Program Director Hank Cookenboo told REM, "Not at all. We will continue to program a variety of AOR sounds from Dolly Parton to Ted Nugent as we go after the 18-34 audience." Cookenboo went on to men- tion, "We also sprinkle some Jazz programming in there. We have found on both passive and active levels that the target audience's taste is not confined to mainstream Rock and Roll." From now on, KDKB Radio Ps Records airplay reports will be reflective of the FM station. Evolution Joe Roiling has been upped from fill-in to morning drive on KLOS/Los Angeles...
