Annual Meeting Valve Manufacturers Association thAnnual Meeting October 3-5, 2013 The Breakers / Palm Beach, Florida VMA ChAirMAn’s leTTer Pattie and I extend our warmest welcome to all of you for VMA’s Special 75th Annual Meeting at the beautiful Breakers Hotel in Palm Beach, Florida. Once again, there is something planned for everyone. Educational, social, and sporting activities for members and their guests make for a full agenda. I once again encourage members to bring the up and coming profes- sionals on their staff. Program Committee Chairman Greg Rogowski (Mueller Co.) and his Committee colleagues Sam Bennardo (AUMA), Mike Mason (Fisher Controls), and Jim White (CWFC), have come up with an outstanding program for this special occasion featuring excel- lent speakers. In addition to educational opportunities, we have a full program of so- cial and sporting activities. The Spouse/Guest Program continues to provide an opportunity for the spouses and guests of VMA members to reacquaint themselves with old friends and meet new attendees. This year’s Spouse/Guest Program will once again introduce attend- ees to the special attractions of the area. As in the past, our Annual Meeting serves as a special occasion to recognize those who have served the industry through VMA activi- ties. We realize that time given to VMA is especially valuable in these rs times of rebuilding our companies both domestically and abroad; so A we are pleased that you are joining in an important VMA tradition, recognizing those special contributors with the Person of the Year Award and the Service Awards. The past few years we have shared our Annual Meeting with repre- sentatives from our affiliated organization, the Valve Repair Council and this year we will once again share the entire program with them. I encourage your networking with their representatives during our meeting. ing 75 ye ing 75 Additionally, we will once again be visited by our European colleagues. All ages are welcome to experience the excitement at the Back Waters Stage. Community members can expect to enjoy a wide range of concerts from all genres including Classic Rock, Country and vModern Rock. For more than two decades, Gin Blossoms have defined the sound of jangle pop. From their late 80s start as Arizona’s top indie rock outfit, the Tempe-based combo has drawn critical applause and massive popular success for their trademark brand of chiming guitars, introspective lyricism, and irresistible melodies. Gin Blossoms soon unfurled a chain of crossover favorites spanning five different formats, from “Hey Jealousy” and “Until I Fall Away” to “Follow You Down” and the GRAMMY®-nominated “As Long As It Matters,” earning the band sales in excess of 10 million in the US alone. In the late 80’s, Gin Blossoms started to grow a huge following as the #1 local music draw in Phoenix and certainly were the hometown heroes of their favorite hang, Tempe, Arizona. Gin Blossoms indelible jangle-pop sound was evolving during radio’s diverse mix of hair bands and grunge music superstars.

Naperville Jaycees Honor Fellow Jaycee with Misericordia Fundraiser In November of 2010, Theresa Pryor’s loving family, countless numbers of friends, the Naperville Jaycees, the Naperville community and many Naperville area charitable organizations lost someone very special. Theresa Ann Pryor passed away from a brain aneurysm at age 45. Words cannot express our sadness at losing such a powerful force of nature far too soon. Whether volunteering her time or providing coffee from her shop, Arbor Vitae Java & Juice, Theresa was involved in almost every fundraiser in town. Theresa was very committed to the Naperville Jaycees - serving on the Board of Directors and the Last Fling Executive Committee, as well as chairing Naperville Jaycees’ Distinguished Service Awards. Theresa loved festivals – she co-chaired the Last Fling Sponsor’s tent for 10 years and volunteered her time as a coffee vendor for festivals from Naper Days to Rockin’ for the Troops featuring Gary Sinise at Cantigny in Wheaton to the Naperville Rotary Club’s “Soup’s On.” Theresa’s sister Jennifer has recently become a resident of Misericordia in Chicago, Illinois.
