This Symposium - ‘Health Equity: Challenges & Solutions’, reflects the need to align the diverse range of disciplines involved in health across Australia to better strategically address the needs of our community. Better integration of research, education and clinical care, and targeting our efforts where the need is greatest will improve the health of our nation. The collaborative meeting will bring Australia’s leaders in health and medical research, and social and political science together. By working jointly across the Academy of the Social Sciences in Australia and Academy of Health and Medical Sciences this program is uniquely placed to drive greater integration between clinical and research settings and policy engagement, and to positively impact health outcomes.
