America’s Report

This past month saw Cricket Canada hold its second annual National Cricket League (NCL) from the in King City Ontario. As promised, this year proved to be a bigger and better event than 2012’s inaugural competition, highlighted by matches being televised live on national Canadian TV. CricHQ was pleased to be the official technology partner. Our competition management solution for the administrators, CricHQ App for scorers, and live scores, competition tables and MVP calculations on our website all proved to be a real hit, taking the NCL to the next level.

Five regional teams comprised of the best talent Canada has to offer competed over eight days in a double round-robin 50 over competition, followed by three days of T20 action.

After the 50 over format was completed, only net-run-rate separated the Western Stallions from the Central Shield, with the Stallions repeating their 50 over success from last year. Following some fast and furious round-robin action, the tournament culminated with the same two teams in the T20 final on a bright and warm Canada Day afternoon.

CricHQ at the ICC Global Conference

At the recent ICC Global Conference held in London we enjoyed the chance to demonstrate our technology platform “This relationship will see the ICC utilising our Administration first hand to ICC regional members with live demonstrations throughout the conference. This demonstration of our state Module for the management and live scoring of regional of the art scoring, competition management and CRM system was so successful that it resulted in eight of the attending ICC tournaments throughout the Americas, Africa and regions signing up to use the CricHQ technology platform.

Also, when presented with the opportunity to score the exhibition East-Asia Pacific.” T20 match between a combined European, African & East Asia Pacific XI and an American & Asian XI we jumped at the chance to showcase our live scoring capabilities to the key decision makers at the ICC.

Played in a festive and good-natured atmosphere, the successful scoring of the match paved the way to build on our existing relationship with the ICC. This resulted in agreeing that the ICC will increase their implementation of our technology platform throughout three of the five cricket regions under the ICC banner, with talks continuing for the remaining two..

Initially agreed for one year, this relationship will see the ICC utilising our Administration Module for the management and live scoring of regional tournaments throughout the Americas, Africa and East- Asia Pacific.

Not only does this allow us to operate with the contracted regions on a wider level, it will also create pathways to work individually with all of the associate and affiliate members along with the playing nations that comprise each region.

On the back of the ICC Global Conference and the resulting agreements from that week, CricHQ has been able to generate even more momentum. It is through this momentum, and our successful relationship with the ICC, that will see the implementation of our technology not just in increasing numbers of established cricketing nations, but also provide a foot in the door to expand throughout the rest of the cricketing world.
