Big Mama™ Big Mama is the largest block ever produced by Grodan. It is 8" square and contains over twice the volume of wool as the popular HugoTM block. This block is big enough to grow a large plant for its entire life! When your plant outgrows its current block, just place it on top of Big Mama. Big Mama is solid wool and does not have a precut hole. Grodan recommends placing a 3" x 3" well rooted plant (or larger) on top. Due to height, top drip irrigation is recommended.

Gro-Slabs™ Stonewool is made from basalt rock heated and spun into cotton candy-like fibers and then cut into cubes, blocks, or slabs. Where other stonewool brand manufacturers cut all sizes from one batch of wool, Grodan is unique by making different types of fibers in order to support the requirement of the plant in the different plant stages. Grodan has a tremendous capacity for absorbing nutrient solution while retaining plenty of oxygen for rapid plant growth.
