NOTE: This course is field experience in the Amazon rainforests of Peru. Course Content based on 30 contact hours of classroom and 90 hours outside classroom.

Day 9: Iquitos, Peru Healthcare Professions at the UCP Learn the Standards of Education and AM Visit UCP University in Iquitos Course ends University in Iquitos. Practice of Healthcare Professions as to meet and share with Healthcare taught in an Iquitos University. Professors and Students. Flights out of Iquitos in Course ends. the afternoon after UCP experience, and/or indigenous crafts fairs in Iquitos for those taking evening flights out… _ _ _ _

NOTE: Due to weather and/or any unforeseen Amazon circumstances, at times some daily activities will be shifted into another day and/or modified to keep the course content intact.

Two papers are due within 15 days of our return from Peru, due by email to instructor.

1)Reflective Paper Based on your experiences and your personal journal. This paper will reflect clarity, own , class content, personal experience, summary of how this course has impacted your life-thinking-career, and how these in-the-field experiences have met the goals and objectives of the course.

2) Research Paper…..JANE WHAT KIND OF RESEARCH PAPER DO YOU SEE? (THIS WAS THE FORMER REQUIREMENTS) My suggestion would be everyone write paper on Sangre de Grado (discovery, where it grows, use topically and orally, and energetics/spiritual use) Due 15 days after return from Peru. For this Research Paper, students will be required to submit a research paper 6 double-spaced pages on Amazonian healing traditions, shamanism, and plant medicines, with at least three research articles or books referenced. The research should include: historical and cultural context, and indigenous and modern uses of Amazonian healing traditions and plant medicines. This research paper should also include applications of the contained in the required reading as they relate to this paper. Modern applications of what was learned and experienced should also be included in the paper.

3) Required Videos/Reading By the end of this course, participants will have watched all videos/read all required readings. Suggested books are optional.
