Neighbourhood area name: Odd Rode
Please include a map of the area: Proposed Odd Rode Neighbourhood Area.pdf
Please describe the area: The civil parish of Odd Rode which includes the settlements of Rode Heath, Scholar Green, The Bank, Mount Pleasant and part of Mow Cop (Cheshire part).
Please explain why this area is considered to be appropriate to be designated as a neighbourhood area: The parish is a natural community with shared facilities, e.g. the medical centre used by most residents is located in Scholar Green. It has a common Parish Council with parish wide services such as a community transport service, AED provision, etc. The Parish Council takes Town & Country Planning seriously, holding Planning Committee meetings on a three weekly cycle to consider applications on a parish wide basis. It would make sense to have a Neighbourhood Development Plan on a parish wide basis, especially as the whole parish is within the Green Belt). A recent scoping survey undertaken by the Neighbourhood Development Plan Steering Group (the questionnaire was sent to over two hundred randomly selected houses) asked the question "Do you support the creation of a Neighbourhood Development Plan for Odd Rode"? The result was Yes 87%, No 9.5% and Unsure 3.5%.
What is the intention of the neighbourhood area?: Neighbourhood development plan
