1. Why study in Taiwan
11 Taiwan Universities Included among Top 100 in Asia
According to the latest QS Asia University Rankings released Oct. 17, 2017, Taipei
City-based National Taiwan University leads the way among local tertiary
institutions in 25th, followed by National Tsing Hua University in northern Taiwan’s
Hsinchu City in 32nd and National Cheng Kung University in southern Taiwan’s
Tainan City in 35th.
The biggest improvers among local institutions were National Sun Yat-sen
University in southern Taiwan’s Kaohsiung City and National Chengchi University in
Taipei. Both advanced eight spots to 65th and 87th, respectively.
Other Taiwan universities featured in the top 100 are National Chiao Tung
University in Hsinchu, 36th; National Taiwan University of Science and Technology
in Taipei, 47th; National Taiwan Normal University in Taipei, 56th; National Central
University in northern Taiwan’s Taoyuan City, 70th; Taipei Medical University, 76th;
and National Yang-Ming University in Taipei, 79th.

outstanding accomplishment in Taiwan.
Beautiful Campus on the Hill by the Water
Located in Wenshan District, Taipei City, NCCU leans on the foothills of
Zhinan Mountain to its east, adjoins the Jingmei River to its west and is
enclosed by the Edge Mountain System with the Zhinan River flowing
through, which taken together forms a beautiful campus surrounded by
hills and water.
3. 2018 NCCU Admission for International Students

3.1 Application Period
Online application: January 4, 2018 ~ 4pm, March 23, 2018 (Thailand
time). Late applications will NOT be processed.

(1) Submission by MAIL: The postmark deadline is March 16, 2018.
Applications postmarked after the deadline will not be processed.
(2) Submission in PERSON: The deadline is 5pm, March 23, 2018 (Taiwan
time). Applications submitted in person are accepted Monday through
Friday (except holidays), 9am – 12pm and 2pm – 5pm (Taiwan time).
The applications not submitted during the prescribed hours or the late
applications will not be processed. Please contact OIC for the NCCU
holidays.
3.2 How to Apply

5.1 Government Scholarships
Taiwan Scholarship: apply through Taiwan Embassy or Taipei Representative
Office in Thailand
ICDF Scholarship: ONLY for students from certain countries (Thailand is
included) applying for International Undergraduate Program in Business
Administration, IMBA, and IMPIS programs
ESIT (Elite Study In Taiwan) Southeast Asian Scholarships: apply through ESIT's
online application system

Project Name Elite 600 Scholarship Program
In order to maintain and enhance bilateral cooperation
in educational matters, promote mutual understanding,
and pursue common benefits and the collaborative
development of education, the Parties will actively
implement a program to send 600 lecturers/staff Introduction members from universities in Thailand as scholarship
students with Thai nationalities to pursue a master's
degree or doctoral degree at selected universities in
Taiwan between the 2014 academic year and the 2018
academic year.
Elite 600 Scholarship is jointly provided by Taiwan and
Thailand. Scholarship Taiwan:When applying for studies in Taiwan if the Method curriculum is offered in English, Scholarship students
have minimum English language proficiency scores on 8
TOEFL PBT of 500, or equivalent scores on other
equivalent international English tests. Those applying for
degree programs taught in Mandarin Chinese must have
a TOCFL certificate a Level 3 or a higher level. Thailand:Thailand shall provide supply Scholarship
Students' airfare, and living expenses and university fees
(might including tuition fees while applicable).
Assist the Elite 600 Scholarship students in accessing
PhD or Master's curriculum in the designated area of
study at the school of choice in Taiwan and assist with

to information about curriculum and application and
enrollment information at the school of choice.

Elite Scholarship Program
Please be noted that the scholarship applicants shall currently occupy a
formal lecturer position at a public or private college or university in
Thailand with a master or PhD degree. Nationals of the Republic of China and
overseas Chinese citizens are not eligible.

6. Taiwan Educational Center in Thailand
Taiwan Education Center is a non-profit organization supported by
Taiwan Ministry of Education to promote higher education in Taiwan and
strengthen bilateral academic exchange between Taiwan and other
countries worldwide. Up till now, TEC has been established in many
countries, such as Thailand, Mongolia, Vietnam, South Korea, Malaysia
and India.
Purposes:
To promote Higher Education in Taiwan

To participate in overseas education exhibitions in Thailand

8. Chinese Language Courses Instructed by NCCU Chinese Language
Center (CLC) during Summer (July- August)
7.1 NCCU International Summer School (ISS)
NCCU International Summer School will bring you an
interdisciplinary understanding of Taiwan in the global context.
Students will enjoy intensive classes in relation to Asia-Pacific
cultures, economic development and Chinese language. Moreover,
NCCU ISS will enable you to interact with and learn from an
international group of fellow students with diverse cultural
backgrounds.

Taiwan/Huayu Enrichment Scholarship
To encourage international students and individuals to undertake
Mandarin study in Taiwan and to promote cultural exchange, the
Ministry of Education Taiwan, R.O.C. has established several
scholarship programs to accomplish these goals.

CLC Scholarship
To acknowledge students with positive learning attitude and
excellent performance, CLC gives out scholarship to qualified
students each term. Candidates must have studied at least one
term at the CLC, NCCU before applying for the scholarship.
9. Summer Camps for Freshmen
8.1 NCCU International Summer School (ISS)
NCCU ISS provides both intensive Mandarin Chinese learning and 10
English-taught academic courses in the fields of Management, Social
Sciences, and Humanities, focusing on the aspects of Taiwan, China,
and East Asia. The program also provides several well designed
excursions as well.
