Glass City Classic II Delta Motorsports Park Delta, OH September 11-13, 2015 Northwest Maico & CZ National Vintage Series Round 14 Race Tech National Post Vintage Motocross Series Round 13

History: Ride the legendary track that was once home to Inter-AMA, Trans-AMA, and AMA Pro National series events between 1970 and 1976. Top European riders Roger DeCoster, Joel Robert, Adolf Weil, , Jaroslav Falta, and the early American greats like, Marty Smith, , , , & Tony DiStefano have all railed a berm at this famed facility. Round #5 of the 1976 AMA 125cc National Motocross Championship at Delta was the famed event at which Team Honda unveiled their much anticipated Type 2 RC125 works machine ridden by Marty Smith. The bike was claimed by a privateer after the second moto, but Marty was able to win the bike back in the claiming lottery. Legendary race promoter, track announcer, and former AMA congressman, Paul Schlegel, created Delta Motorsports Park in 1969 and he still owns it today. Paul is planning to be in attendance on Saturday to do some race announcing. He will entertain and educate us with his classic stories of the early days.
