MOIL is exploiting ore by underground workings to conserve the mineral,which are left with barrier pillars of earlier underground activities with MoEF of 114000 MTPA. 6. The sarekha reserve forest is adjacent to the mine lease. In addition, the Jatta RF and the Dhansua RF are located in the buffer zone of the mine at a distance of 8km and 5km respectively. 7. Topography of the Area a) Regional Ukwa deposit is located on Baihar plateau,which forms a part of roughly North South Trending Maikal range,which in turns form a part of satpura range. Around Balaghat the landscape is plain with elevations of 250m above mean sea level(m.s.l.) from about 15km northeast of balaghat the elevation is abruptly rise to more than 450m above m.s.l. constituting the Baihar plateau,which rises further on the eastern side reaching 833 m above msl. About 10km north of Ukwa. Around ukwa the elevation is b) Project Area The ukwa manganese deposit is conspicuous by a north easterly trending linear ridge, Rising from ground level at about 600m above msl at gudma to about 700 m about msl at the northeastern and of the deposit,called samnapur section,. The ridge has a gentle slope towards north and a comparatively higher slope towards south. The general morphological expression of laterite overlies the top deccan baalts. The low lying areas skirting the plateaus are undulating with small hill ranges trending ENE- 9. Drainage in the Area (River / Nala etc) a) Regional there is no major river in the area and the drainage scattered all over the place. However, two branches of slightly bigger nalas are running in the southeastern part. The drainage in the entire area is dendritic .The distance of Kis and Nahra river are 5kms and 15 kms respectively from the lease area. The entire mine topography is hilly with steep as well as gradual deeping slopes. Deo and Uskal finally join the Wainganga river, the main channel of drainage of the region The entire mine topography is hilly with steep as well as gradual deeping slopes.     PROPOSED ACTION PLAN FOR REJUVENATION OF RIVER WAINGANGA AT CHHAPARA DISTRICT SEONI Submitted by REGIONAL OFFICE M.P. POLLUTION CONTROL BOARD JABALPUR PROPOSED ACTION PLAN FOR REJUVENATION OF WAINGANGA RIVER AT CHHAPARA DISTRICT SEONI 1.0 BACKGROUND 1.1 NGT Case No. 673/2018 : Hon'ble National Green Tribunal Central Zonal Bench New Delhi, in the matter of original application no. 673/2018 (News Item Published in the "Hindu" authored by Shri Jacob Koshy titled “More river stretches are now critically polluted: CPCB") passed an order on 20/09/2018. The para 48, 49 and 50.3 of this order are relevant to comply. The para 48 states that "it is absolutely necessary that Action Plans are prepared to restore the polluted river stretches to the prescribed standards", Para 49 states that "Model Action Plan for Hindon River, already provided by CPCB may also be taken into account" In para 50(i, ii, iii) Hon'ble National Green Tribunal has issued following directions:- i. All States and Union Territories are directed to prepare action plans within two months for bringing all the polluted river stretches to be fit at least for bathing purposes (i.e. BOD < 3 mg/L and TC <500 MPN/100 ml) within six months from the date of finalization of the action plans. ii. The action plans may be prepared by four-member Committee comprising, Director, Environment, Director Urban Development, Director Industries, Member Secretary State Pollution Control Board of concerned state. This Committee will also be the monitoring Committee for execution of the action plan. The Committee may be called "River Rejuvenation Committee" (RRC).

A total of 1197 individuals from 436 households were studied for anthropometric measurements and clinical examination. The consumption of all the food stuff except cereals and millets were lower than recommended dietary allowances. The intake of micronutrients was lower than recommended dietary allowances. Vitamin ‘A’ deficiency was a major nutritional deficiency disorder in this tribe. The magnitude of wasting (weight for height<Median-2SD) in pre-school children was significantly higher (42.3%) than the rural children (23.8%) of Madhya Pradesh. The prevalence of chronic energy deficiency (BMI<18.5) among adults was significantly higher (55.8% male and 62.9% female) as compared to rural population of Madhya Pradesh (28% male and 31% female). The results revealed that malnutrition is still a leading problem among Baiga tribe and this has not much improved in spite of nutrition intervention programmes which are currently in operation.

KRISHNA PAL SINGH YADAV: Will the Minister of TRIBAL AFFAIRS be pleased to state: (a) the details of the work done under Integrated Tribal Development Project in Madhya Pradesh during the last three years; (b) amount allocated during the last three years under Integrated Tribal Development Project; (c) Whether the work done under said project has been reviewed; and (d) if so, the outcome thereof? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE FOR TRIBAL AFFAIRS (SMT. RENUKA SINGH SARUTA) (a) & (b): Under the schemes/programmes namely Article 275(1) of the Constitution of India and Special Central Assistance to Tribal Sub-Scheme (SCA to TSS), funds are released to State Government to undertake various activities as per proposals submitted by the respective State Government and approval thereof by the Project Appraisal Committee (PAC) constituted in this Ministry for the purpose. Funds under these schemes are not released directly to any ITDP/ITDA. However, funds are released to State for implementation of approved projects either through Integrated Tribal Development Projects (ITDPs)/Integrated Tribal Development Agencies (ITDAs) or through appropriate agency. The details of work/projects approved during the last three years under these schemes to the Government of Madhya Pradesh are given at Annexure-I & II. (c) & (d):The following steps are taken to review/ monitor the performance of the schemes / programmes administered by the Ministry: (i) During Project Appraisal Committee (PAC) meetings the information on the completion of projects etc.
