4-H Project General Guidelines This booklet has been compiled to assist in preparing the 4-H member’s project work for exhibition. This document contains general information for project completion requirements and exhibiting 4-H projects at the county and state fair. Please review additional documents for the full information!

For every 4-H Project, 4-H members should:  Familiarize themselves with the project book  Review the requirements to complete the book  Review the county judging guidelines (below)  Review the Madison County Jr. Fair Rule Book and requirements (livestock)  If exhibiting any project at the Madison County Fair, exhibitors must submit a fair entry online by June 1 (this is different from the 4-H enrollment, completed by March 15)

How to use this document: - Search for your project (livestock or special interest) o Use the “Control” and “F” key on your computer keyboard to activate the “find” feature. You can then search for the name of the project to take you directly to that column. - Review the project completion guidelines - Read the Madison County specific guidelines. This is a quick snapshot of the requirements. o For specific livestock project requirements, read the Madison County Jr. Fair Book o For specific non-livestock project requirements, review the project guideline sheets . For projects, review the Clothing Project General Guidelines sheet . For nutrition projects, review the Food and Nutrition Project General Guidelines sheet

If you have any questions about a project requirement, contact: 1. Your 4-H club advisor, or 2. Project Key Leader or Livestock Committee Member, or 3. Madison County Extension Office, 740-852-0975, [email protected]
