Abstract In the final part of a study of trilobites of Wenlock age from the St. Clair Limestone in northern Arkansas and the Fitzhugh Member of the Clarita Formation in south-central Oklahoma, 18 species belonging to the Lichidae and Odontopleuridae are described. Genera and subgenera represented are Arctinurus, Dicranopeltis, Trochurus (Trochurus), Trochurus (Atyzela) subgen. nov., Diacanthaspis, Kettneraspis?, Dalaspis, Dudleyaspis, Ceratocephala, Miraspis, Selenopeltoides and Whittingtonia. These records of Miraspis, Selenopeltoides and Whittingtonia are the only ones known from North America, and the record of Whittingtonia is the stratigraphically latest known. New species are Arctinurus aorter, Dicranopeltis eretes, D. kallaion, Trochurus (Atyzela) searcyensis, Diacanthaspis (Diacanthaspis)? tricosa, and Miraspis capnica. The St. Clair trilobites show closest links with other Wenlock faunas of southern Laurentia, including those from Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, New York and Tennessee. There are significant links also with Avalonia and Baltica, reflecting the union of those palaeocontinents with Laurentia with the closure of the Iapetus Ocean by the late Silurian. Links with Avalonia include a newly identified occurrence of the dalmanitid Glyptambon, previously recognised only from Laurentia. The new lichid genus Anadesma is proposed for ‘Amphilichas’ shallopensis Twenhofel, 1928 from the late Aeronian to early Telychian of Anticosti Island, Canada, a species that has been assigned erroneously to Arctinurus. Anadesma is likely ancestral to Oinochoe, known from the Lochkovian of New York and Oklahoma. The odontopleurid Selenopeltis buchii (Barrande, 1846a), type species of the genus, is a senior subjective synonym of S. inermis (Beyrich, 1846) based on the valid designations of lectotypes for each of those species.
