The story started as an animated web series, but also officially exists in several other forms, including a comic book series and various websites. Contents. Cartoon. Bee and PuppyCat the cartoon series began with an animated short created for Too Cool Cartoons! on Cartoon Hangover, a subsidiary of Frederator Studios. It aired in two parts. The first 5-minute episode premiered on July 11, 2013, and the second episode premiered on August 6, 2013. It was written, storyboarded, and co-produced by Natasha Allegri and was directed by Larry Leichliter. Fred Seibert serves as the series' executive producer, with producers Kevin Kolde and Eric Homan. From Cartoon Hangover: “ Bee is a young lady trying to make her way in the world. She often acts before thinking, which can lead her into trouble (and adventure!). She also has a strong, nurturing personality, and doesn’t think twice about taking in Puppycat when he needs help. Although her laid-back-space-casey attitude and lack of skills tend to keep her from maintaining a job for long in the real world, she isn’t someone who easily gives up, and with the experiences she gains at the magical temp agency she stumbles on, she’ll finally have the chance to find out what she’s meant to do with her life. [1] ” After garnering popularity online, Cartoon Hangover started its first Kickstarter project in order to make additional episodes. It received enough funding to create nine episodes. In 2018 after many rumors of a second season coming, Channel Frederator uploaded a trailer for Bee and PuppyCat: Lazy in Space which would air in 2019 exclusively on VRV. Though the season was then delayed. Comic. Boom! Studios released a comic book version of Bee and PuppyCat in 2014, via their imprint Kaboom. [2] This comic series consisted of collections of comics produced by a variety of artists. The comic was originally planned to contain 16 issues by only 11 were released when it was canceled in mid 2016. Social Media. Bee and PuppyCat has achieved considerable popularity online, with many fans already creating fan art and cosplays showing their appreciation. It is promoted on several platforms. Between space and time, Bee & PuppyCat take intergalactic temping gigs to pay another month’s rent, and embark on adventures that include betrayal, intrigue, and magical transformations. As a “traditionally animated” series, all elements of Bee & PuppyCat are drawn by hand.     Cartoons & Counterculture Azure Star Glover Introduction Entertainment media is one of the United States’ most lucrative and influential exports, and Hollywood, in Los Angeles County, California, has historically been the locus of such media’s production. While much study has been done on the subject of film and the connection between Hollywood and Los Angeles as a whole, there exists less scholarship on the topic of animated Hollywood productions, even less on the topic of changing rhetoric in animated features, and a dearth of information regarding the rise and influence of independent, so-called “indie” animation. This paper aims to synthesize scholarship on and close reading of the rhetoric of early Disney animated films such as Snow White and more modern cartoon television series such as The Simpsons with that of recently popular independently-created cartoon features such as “Narwhals,” with the goal of tracing the evolution of the rhetoric of cartoons created and produced in Hollywood and their corresponding reflection of Los Angeles culture. Hollywood and Animation In a 2012 report commissioned by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, The Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation acknowledged that “[f]or many people, the words Los Angeles and Hollywood are synonymous with entertainment” (“The Entertainment Industry” 1), and with good reason: Los Angeles’s year-round fair weather first attracted live-action filmmakers in the early 1900s, and filming-friendly Hollywood slowly grew into a Mecca of entertainment media production. In 2011, the entertainment industry accounted for “nearly 5% of the 3.3 million private sector wage and salary professionals and other independent contract workers,” generating over $120 billion in annual revenue (8.4% of Los Angeles County’s 2011 estimated annual Gross County Product), making this “one of the largest industries in the country” (“The 76 Azure Star Glover Entertainment Industry” 2).

    Like most people, as a kid Rocket Dog is a turbo- you probably wished for a charged animated series of sympathetic pet whose eleven-minute cartoons fiery rocket-butt gave her bounding squarely towards the power to fly. Good every seven-to eleven-year- thing for you your wish old who loves a good laugh never came true. (and to anyone who’s subversive enough to enjoy the mayhem caused by a certifiably insane canine). Bob is our human hero. A 12-year-old kid, he’s got those qualities you see in a lot of boys his age. He’s competitive, a bit gullible, believes he’s a natural leader (yet works himself to death to fit in), gets nervous around pretty girls, and is able to recognize godawful ideas only in hindsight. Bob would be well-satisfied to be seen as a natural leader but NO ONE with a shred of common sense will follow him. Rocket Dog follows him everywhere. Not that that’s a good thing. It’s those everyday things Bob wants—popularity, the like of a cute girl, racing bike—that are the drivers of our stories. In the long history of dogs, if ever there were a dependable, focused, proud, trustworthy, steadfast companion, it sure as heck isn’t Rocket Dog. (Maybe you’re thinking of her idol, screen star Bonnie?) Oh, sure, Rocket Dog is loyal to Bob—loyal to a neurotic, psychoballistic fault. It’s her over- zealous, frenzied, tongue-wagging determination to help get Bob what he wants that transforms his customary, dime-a-dozen days into epic, one-of-a-kind disasters.

Bee tries to free him by activating TempBot's letter, but she is transported along with Deckard instead. She clicks it open, only to find loose pieces and an off-key tune.
