Representative of ANBD Taipei Chairman, ANBD Associate Professor, Professor, College of Design National Taiwan University of Arts Tainan University of Technology I would like to thank the convention of Asia Network Beyond Design (ANBD) for providing National Taiwan University of Arts with the opportunity to host an exhibition in Taiwan. The Department of Visual Communication Design of NTUA will preserve the convention’s tradition by doing it best to present the theme and the spirit of ANBD 2020.
ANBD, an international convention cooperatively organized by Japan, Korea, Taiwan, China, Malaysia, Thailand, Sri Lanka, has a 12-years history. The main theme of the convention is the construction of new design networks beyond Asian areas. Focusing on exhibitions, the convention aims to create more reciprocal and meaningful opportunities for designers to interact with each other. The theme of ANBD 2020 is “Sound of Asia”. With the global economic center shifts to Asia, many Asian countries have realized the importance of cultural development and globalization. ANBD 2020 will be exhibiting artworks which are beyond the art, design, and a variety of charm and values of Asia, and is expected to provide an interpretation of the special significance and expression of "Sound of Asia".
The annual exhibition of ANBD will be held at Taipei, Seoul, Bangkok and Shanghai from October to November in 2020. The exhibition in Taiwan will be held from October 23th to October 28rd at National Taiwan University of Arts.
