Master Sergeant Michael L. Jackson was born on February 1967, in Albany Georgia, and graduated from Early County High School, in Blakely Georgia. In August 1985, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and reported to Marine Corps Recruit Depot (MCRD), Parris Island, S.C. After graduation, Jackson reported to Camp Johnson, N.C. for Military Occupational Special (MOS) training as a Basic Automotive Mechanic. After MOS school Private Jackson reported Headquarter , 9th Marine Regiment, Okinawa Japan.

In August 1987 Lance (LCpl) Jackson reported 2nd Landing Support Battalion as a Basic and Advance Intermediate Automotive Mechanic. While assigned to Landing Support Equipment Company, Corporal Jackson deployed to the Persian Gulf in support Operation Desert Shield, Desert Storm and Desert Calm from Dec 1990 to June 1991.

In October 1991 Corporal Jackson reported to Range Company, Camp Fuji Japan as a Garrison Mobile Equipment Mechanic.

In 1992 Sergeant reported to General Support Maintenance Company, 2nd Maintenance Battalion, 2nd Force Service Support Group (FSSG). He served as Section Chief and .

In July 1995, Sergeant Jackson reported to Drill Instructor (DI) School, MCRD, Parris Island, S.C. Upon graduation he reported to 3rd Battalion, where he worked as an Assistant Drill Instructor (ADI), Experienced Drill Instructor (EDI) and Senior Drill Instructor (SDI) for Mike Company. Sergeant Jackson was promoted to Staff Sergeant January 1996 and completed his tour of duty November 1997.

In November 1997, Staff Sergeant was transferred to Logistic Operation School (LOS), Marine Corps Service Support School as a MOS Platform Instructor. Staff Sergeant held several billets to include the Student Control SNCOIC, and Logistic Vehicle System (LVS) Team Leader. Staff Sergeant Jackson was promoted to Gunnery Sergeant April 2000.

In April 2002, Gunnery Sergeant Jackson was transferred to General Support Maintenance Company, 3rd Material Readiness Battalion, 3rd FSSG, Okinawa Japan. Gunnery Sergeant served as the Staff Noncommissioned Officer in Charge (SNCOIC)/Contracting Officer Representative (COR) for the III MEF, Corrosion Rehabilitation Facility (CRF). While assigned to 3rd FSSG, Gunnery Sergeant Jackson participated in tsunami relief for Indonesia, Cobra Gold 2004, and. Gunnery Sergeant Jackson was promoted to Master Sergeant Jackson January 2006.

In July 2006 Master Sergeant was transferred to Marine Corps System Command, Quantico Va. Master Sergeant Jackson is serving as the Medium Heavy Fleet Project Officer and Maintenance Chief. Currently Master Jackson manages the LVS, M870 trailers, ARC, P19. His personal decorations include the Navy/Marine Corps Meritorious Service, Medal, Navy/Marine Corps Achievement with gold star in lieu of second award.

In August 2010 after serving 24 years of active duty service Master Sergeant Jackson retire from Quantico Va.

In Sept 2010 Mr. Jackson took a job with the Department of Defense and assumed the position as the Logistics Management Supervisor for Program Executive Office Land System (PEO).

Mr. Jackson is currently the founder and owner of Green Side Landscaping LLC., a residential and commercial landscaping company serving the southwest Georgia area.

Mr. Jackson holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Averret University.

DAWIA Level III Certification in Program Management and Level II in Logistics from Defense Acquisition University.

Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certified Master Automotive Technician, ASE Certified Medium/Heavy Truck Technician,

Master Gardening Certificate from University of Georgia (UGA) and currently studying Turf Management at the University of Georgia.

Mr. Jackson is married to the former Heather Motley from Kearney Mo. We have three daughters and one son, Jamel (30), Elizabeth (27), Savannah (19), and Abbie (18).

Mr. Jackson enjoys traveling, playing golf, running, landscaping, and restoring antique vehicles.
