Niezwykła kobieta w XVII-wiecznym Krakowie Życie błogosławionej Zofii z Maciejowskich Czeskiej – założycielki pierwszej w Polsce szkoły żeńskiej i pierwszego polskiego zgromadze- nia zakonnego2 – jest przykładem biografii wyjątkowej mieszczanki kra- kowskiej pierwszej połowy XVII wieku. 1 Aleksandra Kijak-Sawska – doktor nauk humanistycznych, p.o. dyrektora Gminnej Biblioteki Publicznej w Popowie. The Małopolska Way of St James (Sandomierz–Więcławice Stare– Cracow–Szczyrk) Guide Book
THE BROTHERHOOD OF ST JAMES IN WIĘCŁAWICE STARE THE MAŁOPOLSKA WAY OF ST JAMES (SANDOMIERZ–WIĘCŁAWICE STARE– CRACOW–SZCZYRK) GUIDE BOOK Kazimiera Orzechowska-Kowalska Franciszek Mróz Cracow 2016 1 The founding of the pilgrimage centre in Santiago de Compostela ‘The Lord had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you”’ (Gen 12:1). And just like Abraham, every Christian who is a guest in this land journeys throughout his life towards God in ‘Heavenly Jerusalem’. The tradition of going on pilgrimages is part of a European cultural heritage inseparably connected with the Christian religion and particular holy places: Jerusalem, Rome, and Santiago de Compostela, where the relics of St James the Greater are worshipped. The Way of St James began almost two thousand years ago on the banks of the Sea of Galilee (Lake Tiberias). As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. ‘Come, follow me,’ Jesus said, ‘and I will send you out to fish for people’. At once they left their nets and followed him. Going on from there, he saw two other brothers, James son of Zebedee and his brother John. They were in a boat with their father Zebedee, preparing their nets. Jesus called them, and immediately they left the boat and their father and followed him. (Matthew 4:18‒22) Mortal St James The painting in Basilica in Pelplin 2 The path of James the Apostle with Jesus began at that point. -
Joachim Bar Polskie Zakony
Joachim Bar Polskie zakony Prawo Kanoniczne : kwartalnik prawno-historyczny 4/1-4, 421-592 1961 О. JOACHIM B A R OFM CONV. Badania doprowadzam do roku I960. -
Convents in Kraków in the 20 Th Century
PRACe GeoGRAFICzne, zeszyt 137 Instytut Geografii i Gospodarki Przestrzennej UJ Kraków 2014, 159 – 173 doi : 10.4467/20833113PG.14.014.2159 Convents in KraKów in the 20 th Century Justyna Liro Abstract : Religious orders are clearly noticeable in the geographic space of major cities in Poland. The purpose of the paper is to analyse the location factors for religious orders in Kraków, including the location of the most important houses and their related activity in the city. Religious orders have been present in Kraków since its beginnings. The paper covers convents run by the Roman Catholic Church within the borders of Kraków. The paper is focused on the 20th century when a considerable increase of the number of religious orders and general spatial development of the city was observed. The data for this paper was obtained from church and secular sources, as well as land surveys. In addition, changes in the spatial distribution of religious orders and monastic houses operating in Kraków in the 20th century as well as modifications in their functions were analysed. The largest concentration of monastic houses is Kraków’s historic core. The actual distribution of convents is a result of centuries- old traditions and depends on numerous factors such as the capital city function of Kraków in effect until the end of the 16th century and the rank of religious administration ( bishopric ). A further increase in the number of monastic houses was also due to the spatial growth of the city and the general development of monastic life. Religious orders were characterised by various endogenous and exogenous functions. -

The Sacred Heart of Jesus, Cathedral of Saint Louis, Missouri, United States
The Yearly Review of Saint Philip Neri International Seminary Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest A. D. 2019 Dear Friends, “Behold this Heart, Which has loved men so much, that It has spared nothing, even to exhausting and consuming Itself, in order to show them Its love.” It was with these words, spoken to Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque at the convent of Paray-le-Monial in June 1675, that Our Lord himself described his heart. Is this just a mawkish form of devotion overemphasizing God’s love? That is at least how many Jansenists chose to understand it, but nothing could be further from the truth. Nos ergo diligamus Deum, quoniam ipse prior dilexit nos (I Jn. IV, 19). Let us therefore love God because God first hath loved us. To return love for love: this is the key to understanding devotion to the Sacred Heart. This beautiful devotion, as Father Jean Croiset put it, “is essentially an exercise of love: love is its object, and its principal motive; and it is love which must be its principal end” (La dévotion au Sacré‑Cœur de N. S. Jésus‑Christ, Jean Croiset, SJ, Notre-Dame des Prés, Montreuil-sur-Mer, 1895, p. 3-4). We offer our warmest thanks to his Eminence Cardinal Burke who very kindly agreed to contribute to this issue. These pages are intended simply to help the reader come to a better knowledge of this devotion, so necessary for our times. For all those souls whose charity has grown cold, there is an urgent need to manifest the burning furnace of charity, fornax ardens caritatis, that is the Sacred Heart.
