    Public Opinion Survey: Residents of Armenia February 2021 Detailed Methodology • The survey was conducted on behalf of “International Republican Institute’s” Center for Insights in Survey Research by Breavis (represented by IPSC LLC). • Data was collected throughout Armenia between February 8 and February 16, 2021, through phone interviews, with respondents selected by random digit dialing (RDD) probability sampling of mobile phone numbers. • The sample consisted of 1,510 permanent residents of Armenia aged 18 and older. It is representative of the population with access to a mobile phone, which excludes approximately 1.2 percent of adults. • Sampling frame: Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia.     PRESS RELEASE 18.09.2020 GPW Intends to Take Over the Armenia Securities Exchange · The Warsaw Stock Exchange (GPW) has signed a term sheet with the Central Bank of Armenia (CBA) on negotiations concerning the acquisition of 65% of the Armenia Securities Exchange (AMX) from CBA · GPW’s potential acquisition of AMX requires among others a due diligence and necessary corporate approvals · The preliminary estimated valuation of 100% of AMX is approx. PLN 6 million (USD 1.6 million) On 18 September 2020, the Warsaw Stock Exchange (GPW) Management Board and the Central Bank of Armenia (CBA) signed a term sheet concerning negotiations to purchase 65% majority interest in the Armenia Securities Exchange (AMX) by GPW. The agreement is not binding. The final terms of the acquisition will depend among others on results of due diligence and necessary corporate approvals. “The relations established between GPW and the Central Bank of Armenia spell good news for both parties of the agreement. Many sectors of Armenia’s economy are looking for quality investments so the country has a huge growth potential. Investments are a driver of economic growth, especially in the emerging markets. In my opinion, GPW’s acquisition of AMX would put the Armenian capital market on fast track to growth while the Warsaw Stock Exchange could make satisfying returns on the investment.     Chapter 3 Ground Survey Chapter 3 Ground Survey 3.1 Drilling, Laboratory Tests The outline of the lithologic structure in Yerevan can be understood by the geological maps and the collected drilling database, which contains 5,094 logs; however, the data concerning the S wave velocity for the amplification analysis and the soil properties for the liquefaction analysis are not enough. To collect these data, 10 drillings were newly conducted in Yerevan and several tests were conducted using these boreholes. The quantities of the tests are shown in Table 3.1-1. The geologic condition of Yerevan was estimated as follows from the existing information. The rock layer may be shallow in the northern area and the soft soils cover the southern area. Therefore, the selected newly boring points locate in the south of Yerevan city (Figure 3.1-1). The surface soils of each drilling points are shown in Table 3.1-1. The drilling logs are shown in Data Book. Soon after Armenia's independence in September 1991, 864 collective and state farms were privatized and about 321,000 private farms created.1 By 2006 the number of private farms had increased to about 340,000, as more public land was privatized by open tender. Farms are not only small in size (the average is about 1.4 ha), they are also fragmented, with about 1,200,000 parcels of land shared among the 340,000 farms. The size varies considerably from 0.62 ha in the irrigated Ararat Marz to 3.8 ha in the extensive crop and livestock raising Syunik Marz. If agriculture is to develop further, farms and holdings will need to be consolidated in order to achieve economies of scale. A major impediment to consolidation and a functioning land market was poor registration of land parcels and the issuance of titles. During the review period, a project sponsored by the World Bank and supported by other donors has greatly improved this situation, and most land parcels have now been surveyed and registered, and titles have been issued.2 2. Agriculture contributed an average of 18.8% to Armenia's GDP during 2004-08, and made up about 46% of employment (Chapter I(1)). However, in addition to the problems associated with farm structure, the growth and competitiveness of the sector is restricted by various topographic and climatic factors; for example, most of the land is at an altitude of over 1,000 metres; and over two thirds is on slopes of 6º or more.
