BYU volleyball welcomes just two newcomers to the team this season: Tanner Skabelund, a Bold – home matches * – MPSF matches 6-11 outside hitter from Stevenson Ranch, Calif., and Andrew Lincoln, a 6-7 setter from Phoenix, Arizona. Christian Rupert is a redshirt freshman this season after sitting out last year. Sophomore opposite Ben Patch also returns after a two-year absence for an LDS mission. Additionally, Tim Dobbert was granted a medical redshirt and will remain a sophomore in 2016. • Home sweet home. BYU is 46-5 at home since the start of the 2013 season. • Senior corps. The Cougars return six seniors who saw action in 2015, including four who started at some point during the season. The roster also includes three juniors, six sophomores and four freshmen. • National teams. Three Cougars participated on national teams over the summer - Ben Patch, Brenden Sander and Jake Langlois. • National rankings. BYU currently ranks second nationally in blocks per set, fourth in match W-L per- centage, eighth in hitting percentage, 18th in kills per set and 19th in assists per set. Olmstead coached three athletic training. He competed as a member of BYU’s men’s volleyball team from All-Americans in 2014, including Jennifer Hamson, Alexa Gray and Amy Boswell. 2000-2003. Slabe competed on the 2001 NCAA Championship team as well as the 2003 NCAA Runner-Up team. In 2013, Olmstead coached his team to the round of 16 in the NCAA tour- nament for a second-consecutive year. Olmstead and the Cougars defeated Slabe is married to Tina and has a daughter, Trine (9), and a son Ozbej (6). Arizona State and No. 11 seeded Hawai’i on its home court before losing to No. 6 seeded USC.
