Dear Mr, Mrs,

On behalf of the European Platform on Sustainable Urban Transport Plans in cooperation with the EU-funded CIVINET and Endurance project we are pleased to invite you to a seminar on:

'Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans' At: Forum Lisboa, de 14P, , on Thursday, 4st of June 2015 from 13.30h till 17.30h

In order to assist cities in Europe with developing plans that effectively address urban mobility problems, the European Commission has set out a concept of a Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan1 that has emerged from a broad exchange between stakeholders and planning experts across the European Union. The concept describes the main features of a modern and sustainable urban mobility and transport plan. Furthermore the Commission has supported the development of guidelines2 on drafting and implementing such plans.

This event targets at national, regional and local stakeholders (cities) interested and /or involved in urban transport and mobility planning. The aims of the workshop are to:

Update you about the state of play of the Portuguese policy on urban mobility and transport planning. Inform you about the European support your city can access when preparing, developing and implementing a Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan in Portugal designated as “Plano de Mobilidade e Transportes (PMT)” 3and in Spain as “Planes de Movilidad Urbana Sostenible (PMUS)” 4 Make you familiar with the plan concept, the main steps and the benefits. Discuss barriers to the application of the plan concept in your region/city and how to overcome them.

A tentative seminar agenda and venue details as well as travel information are added.

The workshop is free of charge. We kindly ask you to register as soon as possible at https://docs.google.com/forms/d/18FP10yFWpkVOphl3QuFT01OOiD_BQN1lbY-TzC95cLE/viewform The deadline for the registration is 2nd of June 2015.
