Al dumneavoastră cu prietenie, Alexandru Cetățeanu, Director fondator „Destine Literare”, Montreal – Canada [email protected] 1 Destine Literare Alexandru Cetățeanu Muguraș Maria Vnuck Founding Manager Editor-in-Chief Dear Friends, “Destine Literare” (“Literary Destinies”) was published for the first time in October, 2008 and we have cele- brated our 10 year anniversary in 2018. Our wish has always been to supply our readers with texts written by outstanding Romanian and foreign personalities. And we look forward, in the coming years, to continuing with that tradition. Our magazine is constantly evolving to meet the needs of our readers. Over these past years, we have lost some of our beloved friends, who have enchanted us with their writings. They will be missed. Filling the void, however, we have discovered several new writers, many of whom we have offered the chance to be published for the first time and we have promoted them around the world. These works have been enjoyed by our 16,000 readers. With the end of 2018, we shall see a major change in the structure of our editorial board: as of December 1, 2018 Mrs. Daniela Gîfu has been replaced as Editor in Chief by Mrs. Muguraș Maria Vnuck. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Daniela for her contributions. Over the past 5 years, often hidden in the background, Muguraș Maria Vnuck, our new Editor in Chief, has been working diligently for the success of the magazine. It is at this time that we are honored to bring her to the forefront of our publication. Maria is known worldwide for her cultural activity. She has been a successful editor of Romanian and other foreign cultural and literary publications. She is a professional translator who speaks four languages fluently. Her translations have greatly increased the number of readers of at least 30 books. She is a permanent contributor in countless international anthologies of poetry and she has written many forwards for books, literary essays, articles, and she has organized successful international cultural pro- jects, and book launchings. For her efforts she has earned many international medals and awards, the highest one being “Romania – Bistrita Cultural Palace” which she received in 2016 and which had been blessed by Pope Francis. She lives in Ohio, The United States of America. We invite our readers to join us at “Destine Literare” in welcoming Muguraș Maria Vnuck in her new position as Editor in Chief. In other news, starting in 2019, we kindly ask our contributors to e-mail their texts and photos to Maria at the following e-mail address: [email protected] We are pleased to inform you that our magazine will be undergoing a series of changes which will offer our contributors and readers more opportunities and enjoyment. Until then, the members of our editorial board would like to wish you all HAPPY HOLLYDAYS and A GREAT NEW YEAR!
