Canisius Men’S Lacrosse Canisius (4-6, 3-2) Vs CANISIUS MEN’S LACROSSE CANISIUS (4-6, 3-2) VS. DETROIT (2-10, 1-4) • APRIL 21 CANISIUS HOSTS DETROIT ON WEDNESDAY 2010 SCHEDULE The Canisius College men’s lacrosse team looks to continue its winning ways on Wednesday, hosting Detroit in a MAAC matchup. The Griffs, winners of two straight and 4-of-6, welcome February the Titans to the Demske Sports Complex for a 3 p.m. start. 27 at No. 17 Harvard L, 6-16 JONES NAMED MAAC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK March 4 Junior Adam Jones earned MAAC Offensive Player of the Week honors on Monday after helping the Griffs to a 2-0 week. 2 No. 8 CORNELL L, 6-9 4 Jones led the Griffs with six points, four goals and two assists in wins against Hobart and 13 at Denver L, 5-10 Wagner. He recorded two points and an assist in each game, including the game-tying 20 at Mount St. Mary’s * L, 6-13 man-up goal in the closing minutes against Hobart. 27 MANHATTAN * (2ot) W, 11-10 4 For the season, Jones leads the Griffs with 30 points and 20 goals, while ranking second on the team with 10 assists. April 3 at Saint Joseph’s * (ot) W, 11-10 POWER OF ONE 4 6 at Robert Morris L, 11-17 With its 8-7 victory against Wagner, Canisius continued its trend of one-goal wins in 2010. 4 All four of the Griffs' victories this season have been by one goal and the Griffs are a perfect 10 MARIST * L, 6-9 4-0 in 2010 in one-goal games. 13 HOBART (ot) W, 8-7 4 Canisius is one of only three teams this season to play in four one-goal games, joining Army 17 at Wagner * W, 8-7 and Lehigh. 21 DETROIT * 3 p.m. 4 Of the four one-goal victories, three have come in overtime for Canisius. 28 SIENA * 3 p.m. 4 The Griffs are also one of only four teams to play in three overtime games this season (Army, Bucknell and Navy are the others) and Canisius is the only team to win three overtime May contests in 2010. 1 at VMI 1 p.m. 4 In its wins against Manhattan and Saint Joseph’s, Canisius played back-to-back overtime 7 MAAC Semifinals # TBA games for the first time in school history. 9 MAAC Championship # TBA BALANCED ATTACK 4 The Canisius offense has featured a number of weapons this season with 14 different HOME GAMES IN BOLD CAPS players scoring a goal in 2010. * MAAC Game 4 Manhattan is the only MAAC team this season to have more players score a goal (17). # MAAC Tournament at Marist 4 In their last three games, only one player (Adam Jones) has netted multiple goals for the Griffs with the rest of the attack being spread out.
