Three Braves were also named Daktronic Scholar Athletes and Logan Bullinger became the first OU men’s basketball player to be named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District 3 First Team. The Braves finished the year ranked 16th in NAIA Division II in defensive rebounds per game (29.3), 19th in defensive field goal percentage (.425), 30th in total steals (229), 34th in blocks per game (3.3), 35th in steals per game (7.3), 36th in total blocks (104), 41st in assists per game (15), 42nd in total assists (468), 44th in free throw percentage (.719), and 49th in total offensive rebounds (1,164).

In Siebenthall’s first season at the helm 2015-16 Braves finished with an overall record of 14-16 and a fourth place finish in the KCAC with a record of 10-10. Under his leadership OU had three players named to the All-KCAC teams with Preston Oakes being named Second Team, Marshon Norfleet earning Third Team honors, and Alex Hasty being named to the KCAC All-Defensive Team. The Braves excelled in the classroom and had the most student-ath- letes named Daktronic Scholar Athletes in NAIA Division II. As a team the Braves finished ranked 16th in NAIA Division II in defensive rebounds per game (29.1), 30th in free throw percentage (.728), 33rd in defensive field goal percentage (.425), 36th in total rebounds per game (39.8), 40th in defensive 3-pt field goal percentage (.336), and 47th in scoring offense per game (80.3).

In his role as Associate Head Coach, Siebenthall developed a reputation as an exceptional recruiter, having served as the Recruiting Coordinator for the men’s team all nine years of his tenure. During that time, he developed relationships with an extensive network of coaches at the high school, junior col- lege and college levels across the country, which has extended the quality and quantity of the recruiting pool from which OU has drawn. He also managed many of the operational aspects of the men’s program and is known as a topflight organizer in addition to his coaching acumen.

The Carrier-Siebenthall era produced two NAIA Division II National Tournaments, one KCAC Championship, and one KCAC Tournament Championship. The duo also led the Braves to a school single season record of 24 wins in 2007-08 and back-to-back ‘Sweet 16’ appearances in the NAIA National Tourna- ment. In addition, Seibenthall has been instrumental in coaching 18 Daktronic Scholar Athletes, including the most in the country for an NAIA school in 2008; four NAIA All-Americans; seven First Team All-KCAC Players; one Second Team All-KCAC Player; one Third Team All-KCAC Player, three All-Fresh- men Team Players; three Defensive Team Players; and one KCAC Player of the Year.

Siebenthall began his career at the University of Kansas as a women’s basketball practice player. He simultaneously served as the Head Basketball Coach for the Kansas Kings AAU youth league. In 2000, he transitioned to Lawrence High School as the Assistant Boys’ Basketball Coach and Head JV Coach, where he further developed his coaching style and philosophy before coming to Ottawa in 2006. With a Master of Arts in Education, Siebenthall also teaches in the University’s School of Education as an Assistant Professor and is highly prized by his students and his dean as a teacher.
