We allege that the CZCA is a fundraising office of the Association for the Soldiers of Israel – Canada (ASI – Canada), a non-charitable organization that fundraises on behalf of active-duty soldiers in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). Alternatively, we allege that even if the CZCA is not a fundraising office of ASI – Canada, its financial support for the IDF and active-duty IDF soldiers is in violation of the Income Tax Act , Canadian public policy, and CRA guidelines and policy statements. This financial support is potentially enabling violations of international law by the IDF and active-duty IDF soldiers. The following are the key findings contained in our formal complaint: 1. The CZCA appears to be operating through an intermediary (ASI – Canada) without the requisite direction and control over its activities and resources. This joint venture arrangement appears to be utilizing charitable funds in a manner that is contrary to the Income Tax Act and CG ‑004, Using an Intermediary to Carry on a Charity's Activities within Canada . 2. The CZCA appears to be acting as a conduit for Yahad by funneling resources to it for use in Israel-Palestine without maintaining the requisite direction and control over those resources. Its administrative practices in this regard appear to be in breach of the Income Tax Act and contrary to CRA policy guidance, and CG-002, Canadian Registered Charities Carrying Out Activities Outside Canada . 3. The CZCA appears to be in violation of the Income Tax Act , common law, and CG-002 through its financial support of a foreign army. The support includes being an authorized fundraiser for the IDF, funneling resources to Yahad for use by the IDF, and providing donations to active-duty IDF soldiers (thereby offsetting costs that would otherwise be borne by the IDF). 4. The CZCA appears to be in violation of the Income Tax Act and common law by financing entities and activities which are contrary to Canadian public policy and do not meet the public benefit requirement as stated in CRA policy guidance and CPS-024, Guidelines for Registering a Charity: Meeting the Public Benefit Test . The CZCA’s support for the IDF is wholly incompatible with public policy. 3 1.0 BACKGROUND 1.1 What is the Canadian Zionist Cultural Association (CZCA)? The CZCA (business/registration number 108075748 RR 0001) achieved charitable status in 1980, 1 although there is little information readily available online about the CZCA, its origins, and its stated purpose. There is a similar absence of online information about its activities in Canada. The organization’s website is inactive, and appears to have been listed as “under construction” since at least 2013. 2 A description of the CZCA on the website of the UJA Federation of Greater Toronto describes it as “a registered charity which supports educational and charitable programs in Israel.” It goes on to state that it “operates camps for widows, orphans, siblings and parents of fallen soldiers and provides scholarships for former soldiers .”3 [emphasis in original] 1.2 What is the Association for the Soldiers of Israel – Canada (ASI – Canada)? ASI – Canada describes itself as “the only non-profit organization in Canada supporting the wellbeing of Israeli soldiers on active duty” and states that it “remains in constant contact with the IDF [Israeli Defense Forces] to better respond to the soldiers’ needs”.4 ASI – Canada is “the only non-profit organization in Canada authorized by the IDF to support Israel's soldiers on active duty. We are the Canadian partner of YAHAD - United for Israel’s Soldiers.”5 [emphasis added] ASI – Canada states that

If this volume lives up to the promotion, namely that Jesus did not claim to be , and was not , the promised Messiah of Old Testament literature, it is heresy at its worst. If the promo is some sort of theological subterfuge designed to accelerate sales, it is duplicity in its vilest manifestation. Most commonly it was employed of an act anointing or consecrating a man for a special office—such as a prophet 1 Kings , priest Exodus , or king 1 Samuel Each of these three sacred offices was combined uniquely in the person of Jesus Acts ; Hebrews ; Revelation In the New Testament the term Christos times , i. The New Testament demonstrates this psalm to be fulfilled in Christ Acts ; ; Hebrews ; Let all the house of Israel therefore know assuredly, that God has made both Lord and Christ [Messiah] this Jesus whom you crucified Acts It is theological insanity to make the claims John Hagee has done. It hardly is necessary to pile evidence on top of evidence for the messianic role of Jesus of Nazareth. Words have meanings and Mr. If one cannot express his ideas honestly and lucidly, he needs to cease his journalistic endeavors until he can. The problem, however, is with his new book "In Defense of Israel" where Dr.

Israel: Background and U.S. Relations in Brief Updated January 27, 2021 Congressional Research Service https://crsreports.congress.gov R44245 SUMMARY R44245 Israel: Background and U.S. Relations in Brief January 27, 2021 The following matters are of particular significance to U.S.-Israel relations. Jim Zanotti Domestic issues: March 2021 election. After the collapse of its power-sharing Specialist in Middle government in December 2020, Israel is scheduled to hold another election for its Eastern Affairs Knesset (parliament) on March 23, 2021. The election will be Israel’s fourth in the past two years—a frequency without parallel in the country’s history. Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has managed to maintain power despite an ongoing criminal trial on corruption charges that is set to resume in February 2021. Netanyahu apparently hopes to create a coalition government that will grant him legal immunity or to remain indefinitely as caretaker prime minister (as he did from December 2018 to May 2020) by preventing anyone from forming a coalition without him and his Likud party. Palestinians and Arab state normalization. On the decades-old Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Trump Administration policies largely sided with Israeli positions, thus alienating Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) Chairman and Palestinian Authority (PA) President Mahmoud Abbas. In the second half of 2020, the Administration pivoted from its January 2020 Israeli-Palestinian peace proposal to helping Israel reach agreements—known as the Abraham Accords—on normalizing its relations with the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Bahrain, Sudan, and Morocco. In connection with its deal with the UAE, Israel agreed in August 2020 to suspend plans to annex part of the West Bank, though announcements related to settlement activity have accelerated since then.

Sims, Ph.D. ABSTRACT The 2006 war between Hizbullah and Israel attracted great interest within the American defense community, awakening it to the challenges of “hybrid warfare”. The Israel Defense Force, considered an innovative military, has been working to adapt to Hizbullah and Hamas, both dangerous hybrid organizations. This study explores IDF innovations in two periods, from May 2000- August 2006, the end of the Second Lebanon War, and from August 2006- January 2009, the end of Operation Cast Lead. It gives a history of the campaigns against Hizbullah and Hamas, then details the most important innovations over the two periods. Developing a new analytical framework, this work examines the pressures on and incentives for military innovation in the international, civil/military, organizational, and cultural planes. Finally, the implications of the innovations on military effectiveness are explored. This paper concludes that the perception of failure in 2006 caused the military and civilian leadership to appreciate the same hybrid threat, and this was the main factor enabling the IDF to innovate successfully after the Second Lebanon War.

Celeb Charity The Truth About Celebrity Benefit Concerts Dorothy Pomerantz, 01.26.10, 01:00 PM EST Sometimes celebrities are the best people to rally donors. In Pictures: The Biggest Celebrity Benefit Hauls LOS ANGELES -- Friday night's Hope for Haiti Now concert was a huge success, raising $57 million so far for organizations like Oxfam America, the Red Cross and UNICEF that are working to help victims of the Jan. 12 earthquake. Organized by actor George Clooney and musician Wyclef Jean, the event was a star- studded, bicoastal concert featuring performances from U2, Alicia Keys and Bruce Springsteen, among others. We've come to expect celebrities to rally with a big concert event in the wake of a tragedy. Benefit concerts have been in vogue since 1985's Live Aid, which raised $245 million for famine relief in Ethiopia. In Pictures: The Biggest Celebrity Benefit Hauls At the same time, it's natural to feel a bit cynical watching Madonna in a fancy leather jacket, with a face seemingly improved by thousands of dollars' worth of plastic surgery, singing and asking viewers to donate small sums to help people in Haiti who are hurt, homeless and starving. She's clearly rich (according to our last Celebrity 100 list, Madonna earned $110 million between June 2008 and June 2009). Why doesn't she just donate some of her own millions to those suffering in Haiti? According to Paul Schervish, director of the Center on Wealth and Philanthropy at Boston College, by appearing in the Hope for Haiti Now concert a star like Madonna can raise more money and create more happiness than she could have by just donating on her own.
