The Aikman Club is affiliated with the Old Haileyburians Association and Rowing Victoria. We are based at the National Water Sports Centre at Bangholme (SE Suburbs). We are a developing and growing club run on a volunteer basis. All are welcome to join us for rowing or even if you just want to keep connected to rowing in general. Any other information you would like to include? APSM was formed in 1994 after the three existing clubs [including Albert Park and South Melbourne after re-shaping of areas within the sporting precinct to accommodate other sports. It has a major advantage in that it provides an inner-city venue for lake rowing and training similar to National and international venues.

APSM provides for a wide spectrum of members from competition intense to social an family. It caters for Masters, Intermediate and Junior rowers with an inclusive, friendly focus on club spirit for rowers whose interests range from social and fitness to intense competition.

The Bairnsdale Rowing Club is a vibrant and dynamic community country club catering for all ages and levels of rowing expertise. The club encourages all members to enjoy access to all club facilities and the activity of rowing whether that be socially or competitively and enjoy the ambience of the beautiful Mitchell River. Originally established in 1872 on the banks of the Mitchell River at the Port of Bairnsdale. We are an old club with relatively new beginnings having gone into recess in the 1960’s and reformed in the late 1980’s. The boathouse is now located at Howitt Park adjacent to the Mitchell Bridge. Any other information you would like to include? BCRC is one of the oldest sporting clubs in Australia and will celebrate its 150th anniversary in 2020. We have a proud history which continues today and see the anniversary not just as an opportunity to look back but also to look ahead for our future development. BCRC is a great community-focused club and has won championships at state and national levels – some of our past rowers have represented Australia. BCRC hosted international crews for the 1956 Melbourne Olympics on the FISA accredited rowing course at Lake Wendouree. Our facilities are well maintained, and our equipment is continuously upgraded to ensure that Ballarat’s reputation as a vibrant rowing center is preserved.

(ie gym, change rooms, quality of boats) Banks has the best small boat fleet in Victoria, with the club owning boats in all weight ranges and boat classes, so athletes do not have to purchase their own single. We have a number of Hudson and Sykes Quads, fours and eights, and our women have the top club womens eight in the state with our recent purchase of an Empacher Eight. The club has a gym, erg room, spin bikes and a fully licensed bar for post session drinks.

Any other information you would like to include? Banks is the best club to come to, as we cater for all levels of athletes from youth development right through to elite, with Banks member Rosie Popa recently claiming a Gold in the AUS Women's Eight at the World Championships, along with a Win at Henley and two World Cup Gold Medals. The club has a clear focus on athlete development with tours away, as well as training camps. In 2020 the Club will travel to Canberra for our January Camp, NSW for State Champs and Nationals, and we will be sending a crew to compete in the , as the club has done in the past.

Members of all ages and skill levels are welcome and we are proud to provide a development pathway from absolute beginner through to rowing at representative level. ERC is a broad based rowing club located on the Maribyrnong River (north of the CBD). We are a club run by volunteers, with a number of coaches allocated to various squads (our Junior and Masters Squads are particularly strong at the moment). FCRC has a proud history and is one of the oldest rowing clubs in Victoria at 145 years. We cater for rowers of all ages and level of skill. Located on the Maribyrnong River opposite Flemington race course we are a club run by volunteers providing learn to row for ages 14+ and coaching at Junior, Senior and Masters level. Racing squads train at various times to suit crews and the volunteer coaches schedules. Club rows are of a Tuesday and Thursday evening from 6pm and Sunday morning from 8am where all members are encouraged to come and make up crews to train and for a social row. We hold an annual regatta at the club and compete at most regattas throughout the year. Our master contingent is particularly active and strong.

Located in the City of Boroondara on the Yarra River just below the Bridge Rd Bridge in Hawthorn, HRC is the most accessible Yarra River club to all those living in the Eastern suburbs of Melbourne. The club is a non-profit organization, whose mission is to promote and develop the sport of rowing. Established in 1877, Hawthorn Rowing Club was one of Melbourne's founding clubs for the sport. The promotion and development of rowing has allowed the Club to nurture the mental and physical health and well-being of its members. Rowing and Hawthorn Rowing Club both help to develop strong leadership skills through the support of dedicated training and a positive, supportive community.

We at Hawthorn, pride ourselves on not only being a traditional rowing community, but also sharing and developing skills in new rowers and members. All are welcome, club memberships range from 13-90, encompassing all levels of experience. What is common is the friendship and dedication built around a passion for rowing. Hawthorn Rowing Club hosts the annual Head of the Yarra regatta - an 8 km time trial event racing up the Yarra River from the City to the Hawthorn Rowing Club. With over 2500 athletes competing each year, the Head of the Yarra is the largest rowing event for eights in the Southern Hemisphere. The funds raised through this event go to fund club activities and helps to keep membership fees accessible.

Any other information you would like to include? The Power House organisation was formed in 1931 to establish sporting clubs that would keep camp members connected to each other. The Power House organisation built the McAdam clubhouse in 1932 on the banks of Albert Park Lake, on condition that a rowing club was created. Power House Rowing Club (PHRC) was officially formed in 1933. All Power House sporting clubs went into recess during the Second World War and the rowing club struggled to re- form afterwards. Rowing resumed in a limited form at PHRC in the late 1940s, but the rowing club did not return to any strength until season 1957/58. The McAdam clubhouse was enlarged and updated in 1965 but Albert Park Lake proved to be unsuitable for competitive rowing. PHRC had developed a lucrative business running Sunday night dances in the McAdam clubhouse, and funds from these dances enabled PHRC to build a new clubhouse on the Yarra River at Toorak. The club moved to the Yarra River in 1970, where it still operates.

Any other information you would like to include? Come and join our friendly squads We know not everyone can be a world champion, but still wish to achieve their own goals. We train and compete in regattas, around our busy lives of study, work or social. We have squads of easy going and like-minded girls and women. We are flexible. We train in various crew combinations and boats, so there is no need to commit to one crew unless you wish to.

What facilities do you have? (i.e. gym, change rooms, quality of boats) YYRC offers a modern gym, numerous ergos, change rooms with shower facilities with an extremely well kept fleet. YYRC prides its self on being an inclusive club to where possible, catering to members fleet needs.

Any other information you would like to include? All rowers are welcome to come down and check out the club.
