USC CENTER on PUBLIC DIPLOMACY at the Annenberg School The USC Center on Public Diplomacy Message from the Director seeks to advance and enrich the study In 2009-2010, the USC Center on Public Diplomacy has expanded its national and international reach to great effect. Since August 2009, the Center has solidified its role as a research center and practice of public diplomacy through with the launch of no fewer than eight new projects ranging from nation branding at the Shanghai Expo to Russia’s public diplomacy toward Georgia and Ukraine. The 2010 class by the Center on Public Diplomacy during the academic year 2009-10 comprised 30 participants from Africa, Asia, Europe, the Middle East, South America and the United States and hailed from the U.S. Department of State, the United Nations, a number of foreign ministries around the world, defense organizations, nongovernmental organizations and the private sector.
