For each individual event contested at each of the preliminary championships competition sites, the top 48 declared student-athletes will be accepted into the competition. For each relay event contested at each of the preliminary championships competition sites, the top 24 declared relay teams will be accepted into the competition. The stated maximums are absolute and will not be extended as a result of ties. Announcement of Student-Athletes into Preliminary Championships/Multi-Events Final Championships The list of student-athletes, by event, who have been accepted to compete in each preliminary championships competition, plus those who have been accepted to compete in the heptathlon or decathlon at the final championships competition, will be posted on the NCAA’s website - NCAA.com - by 1 p.m. Eastern time on Thursday, May 18. Combined Events The heptathlon and decathlon events are not contested at the preliminary championships competition. Qualification to the championships in these two events is accomplished through a competitor’s position on the national descending NCAA order list. The top 24 declared student-athletes in each of these two events will be accepted into the national championships. Declaration for these two events is completed during the one and only declaration period, which is before the preliminary championships competition. Qualifying to the Final Championships Competition The championships qualifying procedure allows for a field size of 24 in all individual and relay events at the final championships competition. Qualifying to the final championships competition is accomplished through performance in the preliminary championships competition at each site for events contested at those competi- tions. Twelve competitors from each individual event and 12 teams from each relay event advance from each preliminary championships competition site to the final championships competition. Qualification, through competition in an event at a preliminary championships competition, requires participation in that event at the final championships competition. Any individual or relay team must remain eligible for advancement throughout all rounds of the championships. The specific event formula for advancement to the final championships competition, as well as the tie-breaking procedure, is detailed in the 2017 Outdoor Track and Field Technical Manual at the NCAA website, Division I, Championships, Spring Sports, Outdoor Track & Field (M/W). (June 26, 2018) – In its 33rd year of honoring the nation’s best high school athletes, The Gatorade Company today announced Katelyn Tuohy of North Rockland High School (Thiells, NY) as its 2017-18 Gatorade National Girls Track & Field Athlete of the Year. Tuohy was surprised with the news by 2016-2017 National Girls Track & Field Winner and Female Athlete of the Year Sydney McLaughlin. Tuohy is the first athlete in history to win the Gatorade Player of the Year national title for two different sports, cross country and track & field. Check out the surprise video here. “With national records from the mile to the 5,000 meters, Katelyn Tuohy has reached a level in high school distance running that we’ve seen only once before, with Mary Cain a few years ago,” said Doug Binder, Editor-in-Chief for Dyestat.com. “But to do this as a sophomore, Katelyn’s even beyond Mary’s level of accomplishment. No one in modern times has ever held the outdoor high school records in both the mile and the 2-mile [converted from her national record in the 3200], and Tuohy got both records in high school-only races where she had to do all of the work. Her record-breaking mile in 90-degree heat in North Carolina this June is one of the most impressive things I’ve ever seen.” The award, which recognizes not only outstanding athletic excellence, but also high standards of academic achievement and exemplary character demonstrated on and off the field, distinguishes Tuohy as the nation’s best female high school track & field athlete.

    UNIVERSITY OF OREGON ATHLETIC COMMUNICATIONS 2017 OREGON TRACK & FIELD NCAA Outdoor Championships June 7-10 Eugene, Ore. 2017 OUTDOOR SCHEDULE EUGENE, Ore. - The NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships return to Historic Hayward Field once again this season, and the Men and Women of March 30-April 1 Florida Relays (Gainesville, Fla.) Oregon will be in full force as they aim to take home collegiate track and field’s March 31-April 1 Stanford Invitational (Palo Alto, Calif.) most coveted trophy. April 12-15 Mt. SAC Relays (Torrance, Calif.) April 13-15 Beach Invitational (Long Beach, Calif.) The Women of Oregon enter the NCAA Championships with history in their sights April 13 Bryan Clay Invitational (Azusa, Calif.) as they attempt to complete the historic Triple Crown with NCAA titles in cross country, indoor track and field and outdoor track and field in the same season. April 27-29 Penn Relays (Philadelphia, Pa.) It is a feat that has never before been accomplished by a women’s team in NCAA April 28-29 OSU High Performance (Corvallis, Ore.) history. The women are in position to make a run at putting their names among May 5 Oregon Twilight (Eugene, Ore.) the all-time elite as they enter the NCAAs with 17 entries in 10 events. May 6-7 Pac-12 Multi-Event Championships (Corvallis, Ore.) May 13-14 Pac-12 Championships (Eugene, Ore.) On the other side for the Ducks, the Men of Oregon will feature 14 entries in 11 events when the NCAA Championships kick off in Eugene. The Oregon men have May 25-27 NCAA West Regionals (Austin, Texas) won two of the last three NCAA outdoor titles.

    USC TRACK & FIELD Times and marks for USC Track Athletes 1894 to 2018 INTRODUCTION This supplement booklet to the media guide is my effort to document every athlete who competed for the University of Southern California Track Team. Needless to say, I know everyone is not listed, but I did try. This booklet is a free download, but if you really like what you see here, I/we (Trojan Force) would be more than happy to accept any donation you’d like to send. That info will be at the end of this introduction. WHERE TO START? I wrestled with how to organize all this data knowing that the next person would have chosen a different format. But here it is, such as it is. With a men AND a women’s program we’re looking at some 6,000+ names who can be accounted for that competed for USC. This number doesn’t take into account all the relays as there are names on some of the relay teams that did not show up in any other results that I was able to find. Every effort was made to find a mark or time for every track athlete, but this just wasn’t possible. Athletes listed with no marks or times were the 2nd and 3rd place finishers in posted meet results. This booklet covers the years 1894 to 2018 for the men; the women’s supplement is still being “written” and I hope to have it done by the end of summer 2018. The early marks were gathered from posted results in the newspaper and the El Rodeo yearbook.
