A description of an ongoing or prospective cultural project Woodstock Festival Poland is a huge and free music event which takes place in the beginning of August in Kostrzyn nad Odrą in western Poland. There are four stages, which host a variety of different music genres: Main Stage, Second Stage, Viva Kultura Tent Stage, and Night AFA Stage. The massive event is firmly rooted in the ideals of peace, friendship, and love, and it might be the last vestige of the world, where people of all creeds and beliefs can co-exist peacefully together. The festival, which attracts thousands of guests each year, not only boasts a diverse line-up of performers, catering to people with very different music tastes, but also creates a vibrant, diverse community, where everyone can feel welcome and appreciated. The festival campsites, which, just like the main event itself, is free, remains open for everyone. Young and old representatives of different subcultures, which are usually pitted against each other, come together for the duration of the festival and form one community. Woodstock Festival is organized by Foundation “Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity” with strong support from my institution - Town Hall Kostrzyn nad Odrą. MUSIC Each year the line-up of the festival showcases a few dozen Polish and international bands: both well- known artists and up-and-coming bands. We take care to make sure that the line-up is very diverse, but the festival is well-known for its heavier, rock infused sets. So far, we have had the pleasure of hosting amazing artists, -

Hit 150 Année 2009: Ce best-of annuel renferme beaucoup de hits confirmés : 14 N°1 se sont succédés au fil de ces 52 semaines et les titres français représentent 43% du classement. Charlie Winston décroche le N°1 pour cette année 2009 avec « Like A Hobo ». Un titre qui n’a jamais atteint la place suprême au cours de ces 49 semaines !.Il a vendu plus de 375 000 exemplaires en 2009 de son album « Hobo » : jolie performance de nos jours ! Il classe également au N°35 avec le deuxième extrait de son album : « In Your Hands ». Le N°1 français de l’année se classe second de ce Hit annuel : il s’agit du duo entre Magic System et Khaled avec « Même Pas Fatigué ». Un titre qui parle pour lui- même car classé pendant plus de 11 mois mais surtout le titre a été N°1 pendant 9 semaines consécutives soit le record de longévité au N°1 depuis la création du classement ! Un autre groupe a fait parler de lui durant cette année 2009 : les Black Eyed Peas. The E.N.D (The Energy Never Dies) s’est écoulé à 4,6 Millions d’exemplaires dans le monde. Un succès annoncé avec un premier extrait « Boom Boom Pow » qui a décroché la pôle position du Hit durant 3 semaines. L’incontournable « I Gotta Feeling » fait office de deuxième extrait et se classe N°3 sur l’année ! Un succès encore confirmé avec le single suivant « Meet Me Halfway » sorti en fin d’année et N°1 tout le mois de Décembre ! Le titre était joué par une radio toutes les 10 secondes dans le monde ! L’auteur, compositeur et interprète Grenoblois Pep’s a lui aussi connu le succès cette année. -

Algerians, State Terror, and Memory, a number of books, by Jean-Luc Einaudi, Jean-Paul Brunet, Alain Dewerpe, Linda Amiri, Rémy Valat, and others, meant that the main features of the Paris massacre and the demonstration of 17 October were quite well understood.1 Political controversy has continued to rage, mainly in relation to the contested issue of the numbers of Algerians that were killed, but in general the bulk of the publications that have appeared since Paris 1961 have had to do with the cultural, artistic and memorial aspects of the events, rather than with further research into primary archival sources.2 This shift from the further excavation of archives, to differing interpretations of cultural and political meanings, was exemplified by the debates surrounding Michael Haneke’s film Caché,3 and the commemoration of the 50th anniversary in October 2011. -

El festival Les Vieilles Charrues Del 19 al 22 de julio de 2012 Del 19 al 22 de julio, Carhaix (Bretaña) celebra el festival de música Les Vieilles Charrues que se ha convertido poco a poco en uno de los más grandes festivales en Francia. ¡Un proyecto de amigos! En 1992, un grupo de amigos decide montar una fiesta con juegos atípicos, buena comida y sobre todo buen ambiente, abierto a todos los que quieran pasárselo bien. En esta primera edición, vi- nieron 500 personas, un éxito que nunca hubieran podido imaginarse los organizadores… El año si- guiente eligieron el tema del mar (un guiño al éxito del festival náutico de Brest) y ¡recrearon un puerto y un faro en el centro de la región! Dos años des- pués, esta cita empezó ya a convertirse en un fes- tival de música, debido al empeño de los creadores del proyecto, que habían formado en- tonces una asociación, en invitar artistas de ta- lento para conseguir atraer un público cada vez más numeroso. © DR A lo largo de los años, el festival ha ido creciendo y ha apostado por invitar a grandes artistas tanto de ámbito internacional como nacional, en una zona rural totalmente desconocida. Sólo cinco años después de su creación, Les Vieilles Charrues lograron reunir 11 cantantes de gran fama como James Brown, Jane Birkin o Simple Minds. Aunque ahora Les Vieilles Charrues es un enorme festival, la organi- zación nunca ha olvidado su meta de los primeros años: hacer que la Cifras 2011: gente se divierta, sean cual sean su edad, gustos musicales o intereses. -

Minahen Graduate Program in French and Italian Copyright by Rebecca H. Bias 2005 ABSTRACT This dissertation examines French music-hall cinema from 1930-1950. The term “music-hall cinema” applies to films that contain any or all of the following: music-hall performers, venues, mise en scène, revues, and music- hall songs or repertoire. The cinema industry in France owes a great debt to the music-hall industry, as the first short films near the turn of the century were actually shown as music-hall acts in popular halls. Nonetheless, the ultimate demise of the music hall was in part due to the growing popularity of cinema. Through close readings of individual films, the dynamics of music-hall films will be related to the relevant historical and cultural notions of the period. The music-hall motif will be examined on its own terms, but also in relation to the context or genre that underlies each particular film. The music-hall motif in films relies overwhelmingly on female performers and relevant feminist film theory of the 1970s will help support the analysis of female performance, exhibition, and relevant questions of spectatorship. Music-hall cinema is an important motif in French film, and the female performer serves as the prominent foundation in these films. -

L’embellie, c’est cette lumière qui pointe au loin dans un paysage. C’est la photo de la pochette signée Ellen Kooi, une artiste néerlandaise. Après la collaboration en binôme avec Zazie, j'ai eu envie de contacter des auteurs avec lesquels je n’avais pas encore travaillé. .J’avais l’habitude de confier mes musiques aux auteurs en les laissant me proposer des sujets. Cette fois, je savais assez précisément les thèmes que je voulais aborder. Je les ai donc suggérés pour chaque chanson. 1 La fin de la fin du monde J’apprécie Dominique A depuis longtemps. Ses textes, ses musiques, sa voix, l’artiste me touche. Connaissant bien son travail, je l’ai contacté car j’étais quasiment certain que nos deux univers pouvaient se rapprocher. Il signe trois des textes de l’album dont « la fin de la fin du monde » qui est l’une de mes favorites du CD. C’est une chanson d’espoir, le recommencement après le chaos. Le rythme est enjoué, inspiré de la traditionnelle tarentelle sicilienne. C’est une marche héroïque, une marche en avant. -
