ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the species composition and range of Mediterranean Blennies (Ac- tinopterygii, Blenniidae) occurring in river estuaries and lagoon systems of the Mediterranean coast of Turkey, and to characterise the length–weight relationship of the specimens. A total of 15 sites were surveyed from November 2014 to June 2017. A total of 210 individuals representing 3 fish species (Rusty blenny-Parablennius sanguinolentus, Freshwater blenny-Salaria fluviatilis and Peacock blenny-Salaria pavo) were sampled from five (Beşgöz Creek Estuary, Manavgat River Es- tuary, Karpuzçay Creek Estuary, Köyceğiz Lagoon Lake and Beymelek Lagoon Lake) of the locali- ties investigated. The high juvenile densities of S. fluviatilis in Karpuzçay Creek Estuary and P. sanguinolentus in Beşgöz Creek Estuary were observed. Various threat factors were observed in five different native habitats of Blenny species. One of the most poorly studied taxa of fishes in the Mediterranean Sea is clingfish. In this paper we examine the habitat preferences of three clingfish species (Lepadogaster lepadogaster, L. candolii, and Apletodon incognitus) occurring in the Gulf of Trieste (Northern Adriatic). The results show that all three species have a cryptic lifestyle and are well- segregated based on their depth distribution and macro- and microhabitat preferences. L. lepadogaster inhabits shallow waters of the lower mediolittoral and upper infralittoral, where it occurs on rocky bottoms under stones. In Romania, shad fishery has a market Avalue of about 1.5 million euro, with average annual catches of 200-500 tonnes. Biological material was collected during research surveys organized along the Black Sea coast, in 2012-2013, in spring season (March, April), summer (June, July) and autumn (September). Experimental fishing was done with fishing gillnets. Demographic structure of Alosa immaculata consists of generations of 2-5 years, dominated by generations of 3 to 4 years. The aim of this paper is to provide recent data regarding Alosa immaculata population along the Black Sea Coast consideribg that its biology is less known. SUMMARY: The sagittal otolith of 348 species, belonging to 99 families and 22 orders of marine Teleostean fishes from the north and central eastern Atlantic and western Mediterranean were described using morphological and morphometric characters. The morphological descriptions were based on the otolith shape, outline and sulcus acusticus features. The mor- phometric parameters determined were otolith length (OL, mm), height (OH, mm), perimeter (P; mm) and area (A; mm2) and were expressed in terms of shape indices as circularity (P2/A), rectangularity (A/(OL×OH)), aspect ratio (OH/OL; %) and OL/fish size. The present Atlas provides information that complements the characterization of some ichthyologic taxa. In addition, it constitutes an important instrument for species identification using sagittal otoliths collected in fossiliferous layers, in archaeological sites or in feeding remains of bony fish predators. The list 24 is based on historical literature records and new revisions. The ichthyofauna list is 25 composed by 397 species very diversified in 2 superclass, 3 class, 35 orders, 139 1 1 families and 288 genus. The order Perciformes is the most diverse one with 37 families, 2 91 genus and 135 species. Gobiidae (19 species) and Sparidae (19 species) are the 3 richest families. Biogeographically, the Lusitanian group includes 203 species (51.1%), 4 followed by 149 species of the Atlantic (37.5%), then 28 of the Boreal (7.1%), and 17 5 of the African (4.3%) groups. We have recognized 41 new records, and 3 other records 6 have been identified as doubtful.
