Fonseca, Journal of Communication La Cadena SER en Facebook: nuevas estrategias de interacción con la audiencia Ramos del Cano, Fátima La Cadena SER en Facebook: nuevas estrategias de… ISSN: 2172-9077 LA CADENA SER EN FACEBOOK : NUEVAS ESTRATEGIAS DE INTERACCIÓN CON LA AUDIENCIA Cadena SER in Facebook: new interaction strategies with audience Fátima RAMOS DEL CANO Doctoranda.

COMME DES CINEMAS, NAGOYA BROADCASTING NETWORK AND TWENTY TWENTY VISION AN FILM PARTNERS, ZDF / ARTE, MAM, CNC, MEDIENBOARD BERLIN BRANDENBURG COMME DES CINEMAS, NAGOYA BROADCASTING NETWORK AND TWENTY TWENTY VISION SYNOPSIS Sentaro runs a small bakery that serves dorayakis - pastries filled with sweet red bean paste(“an”) . When an old lady, Tokue, offers to help in the kitchen he reluctantly accepts. But Tokue proves to have magic in her hands when it comes to making “an”. Thanks to her secret recipe, the little business soon flourishes… And with time, Sentaro and Tokue will open their hearts to reveal old wounds. 113 minutes / Color / 2.35 / HD / 5.1 / 2015 DIRECTOR’S STATEMENT Cherry trees in full bloom remind us of death. I do not know of any other tree whose flowers blossom in such a spectacular way, only to have their petals scatter just as suddenly. Is this the reason behind our fascination for blossoming cherry trees? Is this why we are compelled to see a reflection of our own lives in them? Sentaro, Tokue and Wakana meet when the cherry trees are in full bloom. The trajectories of these three people are very different. And yet, their souls cross paths and meet one another in the same landscapes. Our society is not always predisposed to letting our dreams become reality. Sometimes, it swallows up our hopes. After learning that Tokue is infected with leprosy, the story pulls us into a quest for the very essence of what makes us human. As a director, I have the honour and pleasure of exploring different lives through cinema, as is the case with this film.

  • Jazz and Radio in the United States: Mediation, Genre, and Patronage
Jazz and Radio in the United States: Mediation, Genre, and Patronage Aaron Joseph Johnson Submitted in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY 2014 © 2014 Aaron Joseph Johnson All rights reserved ABSTRACT Jazz and Radio in the United States: Mediation, Genre, and Patronage Aaron Joseph Johnson This dissertation is a study of jazz on American radio. The dissertation's meta-subjects are mediation, classification, and patronage in the presentation of music via distribution channels capable of reaching widespread audiences. The dissertation also addresses questions of race in the representation of jazz on radio. A central claim of the dissertation is that a given direction in jazz radio programming reflects the ideological, aesthetic, and political imperatives of a given broadcasting entity. I further argue that this ideological deployment of jazz can appear as conservative or progressive programming philosophies, and that these tendencies reflect discursive struggles over the identity of jazz. The first chapter, "Jazz on Noncommercial Radio," describes in some detail the current (circa 2013) taxonomy of American jazz radio. The remaining chapters are case studies of different aspects of jazz radio in the United States. Chapter 2, "Jazz is on the Left End of the Dial," presents considerable detail to the way the music is positioned on specific noncommercial stations. Chapter 3, "Duke Ellington and Radio," uses Ellington's multifaceted radio career (1925-1953) as radio bandleader, radio celebrity, and celebrity DJ to examine the medium's shifting relationship with jazz and black American creative ambition.

  • Budget Letter
February 28, 2019 The Honorable Muriel Bowser Mayor of the District of Columbia 1350 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, Suite 300 Washington, DC 20002 Re: Fiscal Year 2020 Budget Proposal Dear Mayor Bowser: As you prepare your Fiscal Year 2020 (“FY20”) proposed budget, I would like to highlight a few Ward 5 priorities and request that you consider funding them in FY20. Last year, your Fair Shot budget made critical investments essential to Ward 5 residents such as supporting $20 million in funding for a new Lamond-Riggs library; $500,000 for new Main Streets and Clean Teams along South Dakota/Riggs Road and Bladensburg; and $300,000 for the design and creation of a statue of native Washingtonian and civil rights leader, Charles Hamilton Houston. Our Ward 5 FY20 budget is about making the District equitable and inclusive for all. From investing in affordable housing to keep residents in their homes to expanding behavioral health and trauma informed services, together, our Ward 5 FY20 budget requests moves the District towards real achievable and equitable results. Further, our Ward 5 budget represents feedback gathered from residents during my Ward 5 Budget Engagement Forum, and consideration of over 300 hours of Advisory Neighborhood Commission (ANC) and civic association meetings. 1. Affordable Housing Affordable housing remains one of the highest priorities of Ward 5 residents. With your leadership and the support of the Council, we have made critical investments in the Housing Production Trust Fund, adjusted amounts for HPAP, and other important steps to ensure housing affordability. However, the Washington Post just reported that “[i]ncome inequality is rising so fast… that data can’t keep up”.
