ABOUT VISIT WEST HOLLYWOOD: The mission of Visit West Hollywood is to market the City of West Hollywood as a “first choice” visitor destination to business and leisure travelers by promoting an awareness of the City’s unique location, image, businesses and industries and by providing requested support for the City’s economic development efforts.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Vice President of Operations & Strategic Planning will be responsible for managing the budget and finances of the company while simultaneously aligning and mobilizing the organization to successfully implement our strategic plan and achieve the core objectives. The VP will work closely with the President/CEO, staff, board and stakeholders.

Reports To: President & CEO

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for evaluating strategic plan growth and the effectiveness of the plan’s productivity in relationship to the budget and ROI. • Manage organization’s CRM database and employee usage; Work closely with external CRM team to implement features/tools based on employee needs and feedback. • Supervise Accounting and Human Resources. • Reviews analysis of activities, costs operations, and forecast data to determine Bureau, department or division progress toward stated goals and objectives. • Manage “I AM West Hollywood” community ambassador program. • Represent VWH at appropriate community board meetings, functions and activities. • Ensure operational directives of the President/CEO are carried out in a timely manner.

REQUIREMENTS:

• College degree, preferably in business administration. • Minimum of seven (7) years of professional experience in managing nonprofit, financial, administrative operations, human resources and multi-program budgeting. • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to explain financial terms and concepts to nonfinancial personnel. • Experience managing public sector funding, working with external stakeholders and managing a professional staff will be required. • Strong time management skills. • Thorough working knowledge of West Hollywood preferred. • Able to work independently and as part of a team. • Flexible regarding schedule and duties – will attend evening and weekend events. • Strong initiative, able to handle routine problems, excellent troubleshooting skills and decision making techniques. • Computer literate in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Photoshop, Social Media and web-based databases. • Background in a destination marketing organization, the hospitality industry, or other service industries would be beneficial.
