Southwest Regional Social Studies Fair Saturday, February 25, 2012 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. The Columbus Museum 1251 Wynnton Road Columbus, Georgia 31906 The Muscogee County School District is pleased to host the Southwest Regional Social Studies Fair on Saturday, February 25, 2012. Please make sure that your students who have been selected to compete at the regional level have access to this information. We are looking forward to celebrating the achievements of your students at this year’s fair! District Directors: Please make sure you send in your two page entry forms for your projects by February 16, 2012. All forms should be signed by the system level social studies coordinator as well as parents and guardians. Please do not leave any blanks on the forms. The information on the first page should be typed using the computer, and all parents and guardians should sign the second page. Please send all forms to: Kim Cason 2960 Macon Road Columbus, Georgia 31906 [email protected] 706 748-2081 The teacher’s school address and e-mail address are used to track down any missing information needed prior to registering your student(s) for the state fair, so please make sure that this information is included on the forms. Schedule for the Regional Competition 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. Students set up their displays in the Wright Room at the Columbus Museum 10:00 – 11:45 a.m. Students remain on site for Interviews 2:30 – 3:00 p.m. Projects will be displayed for public viewing 3:00 – 3:45 p.m. Awards Ceremony in the Patrick Theatre at the Museum On the day of the fair, the museum will not be open before 8:45 a.m. Students should plan to set up their projects between 9:00 and 10:00 a.m. (Please remember to bring extension cords, power strips, and other technology needs.) Only students will be allowed in the Wright Room to set up the projects. Students should make plans to stay for Interviews immediately after the setup is completed. After the interview session, please feel free to enjoy the museum, the malls or the many historical sites in the Columbus area.
